Some of the more recent Drama/Rom-Coms we watched had wonderful casts, but the plots were plodding with unsatisfying endings. I said what a waste of a good cast's talents. Rom-Coms are pretty bad, too. I like action and thriller movies the best.

Some of my favorite flicks are not on the list. I liked the original cookie "Gone in 60 Seconds" from 1974 it featured 96 cars being crashed those were real cars not computer graphics as in todays films. I also like "Dirty Mary & Crazy Larry" from 1973"... The Getaway" with Steve McQueen and he also did a film called "Bullet" that was good. There are so many good films it's tuff to pick just one. Then ya have musicals, I liked "Chicago","Xanadu", with the lovely Miss Olivia Newton-John staring.

In my opinion 9 of the films in the poll are more suitable candidates for the title of worst ever movie.
I voted for the Godfather.

I voted for ET. Shawshank was too disturbing for me. I've always felt movies are the one thing that brings joy into our lives, or at least they used to.

Schindlers List is my all time favorite. Spielberg is a genius. Best ending of any movie ever made imho 😓

I totally forgot to put Schindler's List in the poll. Great picture Rusty. Of the flicks in the above poll, which would you say was the best?

The "Godfather" is one film I never could get interested in and that also goes to for "The Sting"-- And "Star Wars" is the only film we ever walked out on, we went to see it in 1977 at the Showcase Cinemas in Stearing Heights, Michigan that was a brand new movie complex in 1977 with all the latest high tech movie gear and sound effects but the story line kept jumping around nothing made sense so after a few minutes we both decided to go. The tickets were not cheap I think it was around $7.00 per person which was alot in '77.

Good choice @naz. Of the movies listed in our poll, which would you choose? So far Shawshank Redemption is way out front.

I have as well. Must admit I was literally biting my nails watching that movie! Do you know that those two girls did all their own stunts 100 feet off the ground?

Actually, the hill the tower was on was 100 feet high. The tower itself was only 20 feet tall. It did lend itself to good perspective shots.

Springshick says
Oh really I didn't that. I did hear that they did it on a hill. But I thought, the structure was 100 feet high on top of that hill to mimic the real tower, which is in fact over 2,000 feet high.
Let me see if I can find that video about it.

The director says "they built a 100 foot tower on a 2,000 foot hill"

More than my own height is too much for me. I do have a fear of heights. I think I know why though. When I was just very little, around 3 or 4 years old. My older brother dangled me from my ankles from the 2nd floor of our house. I was terrified I can tell you! It must have been around 30 or 40 feet high I think.
