I know it is part of life, but going thru the forums I post on, truly realizing how many members are either having their own cancer battle or have a close loved one battling cancer.
I have lost so many people to different kinds of cancer it physically hurts every time I read and talk with the posters who are dealing with cancer issues right now.

I don't get upset anymore. Life is too short Great philosophy Justbec. Could be a very good signature line for awhile....for me to get into long term memory. Btw...what do think about the nickname "JB"? Or "Bec"? For one it would save a bit of typing.

Is it still cold where you are, sauerkraut.? Nothing really upset me today. Yes but today is the last day of cold, we are finally going up to normal temps in the 90'sF (about 33*C) by the weekend we should be around 36*C. That is my kind of weather! We were cold and way below normal for all of August which is supposed to be the hottest month of the year.

There's a lot to be said for a single payer medical system.

Just about anywhere you visit or just about anyone you know has either had cancer themselves or they are connected in some way to someone who has. We should be asking ourselves why is Cancer on the increase all over the world? Is it the sun? What we eat? What we put on our skin? A combination of all these things plus more? I feel really sorry for those who are suffering from serious diseases like Cancer. I guess we have to put our faith in the fact that more cancer victims are surviving now than ever before. But still it is sad to see so many people suffering from this disease.

Today it was 26C here and to me that was already too warm. I guess I have become very used to living in the cold. I can handle the cold better than the heat.

We have private insurance thru my husband's employer, and the bills are crushing...just crushing.

I've never seen Erin Brockovich, but yes, I think the inviroment (air, water, fumes and so forth) might have more to do with the increase in Cancer than we realize.
Also I have heard that the more over-weight a person is the more likely their bodies could create cancers.
How about the sun? the damage to the ozone layer?

It is a wonderful film Dey, based of course on a true story. Julia Roberts really did a fine job in the role of Erin Brockovich. When you get some free time...ha , ha...maybe borrow the DVD from your local library. Makes a nice date at home film...along with your favorite meal of course and a lit fireplace. connie_1

The bad weather report, there will be frost in the area tonite near here. This will be a record early frost the normal date for first frost is in November. Funny, Climate change sez the planet is changing from cold to warm, and global warming with the increase of CO2 is melting the polar ice caps and traping heat. Question: Why is it so darn cold and why is winter arriving more early each year if the CO2 is melting everything? 89

Pestered by rain over night, I guess we had heavy winds too, I slept thru it all- in the morning my yard was soaking wet, tree limbs were down in the neighborhood, and a 5 gallon bucket about an 1/8th full of water I had in my yard was blown around to the other side of my yard. Another cold front, global warming indeed.
