The battery for my mobile phone arrived in the post today. I will have a go at installing it when I feel brave enough, it is not a simple task and it is stuck together with heat sensitive glue, or it was until the old battery expanded and push one end open, dunno if it will stick back together properly. Will see when I try! Let me know if you succeed in fixing the problem. I have not attempted to change it yet, the phone still works OK although the screen does bulge out a bit in the middle, I think it is over charging that makes the battery expand so I have been careful not to do that and it has not got any worse, I do not use it much so I will put it off as long as I can, it cost about £180 so I want to get some use out of it before I attempt to replace the battery as I broke my previous phone changing the built in battery. I was a bit careless though, I forgot to remove 2 hidden screens and then used too much force before I realised my mistake. It is a decent phone apart from that, but a bit big to carry around in a pocket. But that is the trade off, portability v usability.

I'm still here despite the possibility of an aortic aneurysm rupturing. Every day is a Godsend. That is a good thing, and many many more years to come I hope, just be careful and do not over do things!

Unfortunately I have seen a lung specialist recently at the behest of another specialist, and he has shown me the xray of my chest on his computer. I now have pulmonary fibrosis which is the tissue of the lung ballooning which fills a fifth of one side of my lungs. This is why I pant with any exertion and have to keep resting.

It does not sound too good really, but you still have 90% of your lungs working OK so you should be able to manage OK if you do not over exert yourself.

I am hoping so as there is lots in life that give you enjoyment. Life is still precious.!!!

Well it would be a positive I guess, however I am just as happy with cooler weather in the low 20's C
It is not just the temperature though, I prefer low humidity so it is nice and fresh rather than hot and sticky!
It would have been a positive when I posted, must have been the hottest day of the year, hot days are pretty rare in the UK, so it is something different but means I will have to get out some lighter clothing.

Made myself a chicken Tikka Masala with a jar of sauce I got, I quite liked it, I think I will be having more in the future.
The good thing with rice is you do not have to peel the rice as you have to with potatoes!
Much easier!

Sometimes weather can be pretty changeable. I'll never forget the day that I decided to go into town. It was a beautiful warm sunny day, but as soon as I stepped off the bus and crossed the road, a storm came up with the wind blowing so strong that the hailstones were practcally being blown horizontally along the road. Had I not managed to reach a protective shop doorway to escape the onslaught, my clothing might have been ripped to shreds by the hailstones. That has never happened since. It makes you wonder how it could possibly have happened in the first place?

The good thing with rice is you do not have to peel the rice as you have to with potatoes! Much easier! I have read that all the goodness of a potato lies in the skin, so that you have got rid of the most nourishing part of the potato when you peel it. Some people just scrub the potato and cook it in its skin. If you want mashed potatoes then you wait until the potatoes are cool enough to be scraped and the skin can be dug into the vegetable plot, so that nothing is lost.

Yes you can get caught out like that, it is almost as bad when you expect it to be cold and take a coat with you and it turn out to be really hot! Hail can be pretty destructive, when I was young we had an allotment with a green house make with plastic sheeting, the hail just went straight through it leaving big holes!!

No I don't think so, I think it was quite late in the growing season, they grew a big pile of tomato and sold them odd at the entrance to the allotment if I recall correctly. I think they only did it for a year or two On cold night they would have to go and light a paraffin heater to protect the plants early on in the year.

If you intend selling things, there is a lot of work entailed. I like growing things for my own benefit as tomatoes etc are so much sweeter compared to fruit and vegetables that are picked when they are green to be sold in supermarkets.
