West Brom 6 points clear, quite a few fighting for second spot. Team P GD Pts 1 West Brom 32 23 62 2 Leeds 32 17 56 3 Fulham 32 14 56 4 Brentford 32 27 54 5 Nottm Forest 32 12 54 6 Preston 32 11 53
Forest beating stronger teams like Leeds than screwing up against crap like Charlton - typical!
They have West Brom next, hopefully they can beat the stronger team again!

We only managed a 1-1 draw at Birmingham. It's very tight at the top with only Leeds winning in the promotion pack.

A difficult game at Griffin Park against Blackburn. They have an outside chance of the play-offs and came at us like a train. Before we knew where we were they had scored two goals.
In the past we would have given up at that point but this Bees team has spirit. We fought and fought and clawed our way back to end the match 2-2. Not a bad result considering the start and especially considering the failure of most of our promotion rivals to gain ground.

With West Brom and Leeds back on form it looks like a play off spot for the chasers.

A disastrous result last week; losing to teams like Forest is one thing but losing to Luton is quite unacceptable. They are heading for League One while we are trying to win promotion to the Premier League. We followed that up with a draw against Cardiff which is at least more forgivable. I still find it incredible that we lost to Luton!

Back to winning ways again as we beat Sheffield Wednesday 2-0. We now face two really tough six-pointers - the first away to Fulham and the second at home to West Brom. Frankly I would settle for a point from each of those games though of course a win is always better!

Forest hammered 3-0 by Millwall. Not a good sign.

Now that the Championship has resumed at last, my club Brentford re-open our season with two tough games. On Saturday we are away to Fulham and on Friday at home to West Brom.
Fulham, like us, are chasing a play-off place and West Brom are fighting Leeds for the Championship title.
We might get nothing from both games which would make our promotion hopes much more difficult.
If we can win both games the six points would be priceless.
Even a win and a draw or two draws would be acceptable.
It is a pity that our first two games since the long lay-off have to be such difficult matches!

An unexpected bonus - Brentford travelled to Fulham today (not a long journey, admittedly!) and we won 2-0. The three points are very welcome especially against one of our fiercest rivals for a play-off place. Hopefully the win will put us in good shape for the difficult home tie against West Brom later this week.

Two of our most difficult games out of the way and we took 6 points from both. A 1-0 win over West Brom at Griffin Park was enough to get us the three points and now we are in a much stronger position. As so often, Ollie Watkins got the goal for us.
We are now only five points behind West Brom and Leeds and for the first time we can dream of an automatic promotion spot!

In with a chance which is more than you can say about Forest.

You should be able to pick up three points against Huddersfield.

I would not bet on it. They tend to do better against better teams.

Well they got the 3 points with a 3-1 win, but it is tall enough order for Brentford to grab an automatic spot never mind Forest who effectively need 3 points more than them.

Another 3 points for Forest after a 1-0 win over Bristol City, but too little too late, puts them in 4th place 2 points behind Brentford

As Mike has his arm in a sling at the moment he can't really do much on the computer.
So I'm posting the Brentford FC updates on his behalf.
Since the restart of the season Brentford have won every game they've played scoring nine goals and conceding none.
They're now just two points behind West Brom.

I don't know too much about the sport, but I do miss Mike.
Wishing him a quick recovery.
