I've always thought this generation of young people were more interested in things and fun rather than work and homes. Not saying that is wrong or bad, every generation has their own 'quirks'. I do wonder though after 2 years of Covid if that line of thought will get more so or lessen...

When I look into my own family, I have many female relatives, of different ages, that either never married nor got into long term relationships, or simply choice a solitude life and now, well into their 30's they cannot have children. One of my nieces says she is thinking of freezing her eggs in case she want kids later on in life. I'm not sure exactly how well that works. But I guess it's an option.
Fertility becomes an issue for men who want to marry or settle down. If a women is already into her 30's the chances of conceiving become less and less. And as many American women nowadays are very much into their careers, something they have no doubt worked hard to get, it is a choice that has to be made. Children and a home life or a career.
So in that way it's not surprising that men will look to other countries and cultures for a wife if they wanted to settle down and have a family.

Very true, I have friends and relatives who never married and dont seem to care. Also I have friends who are married but dont want children.

It's good that people are not afraid to make the choices that suit them the best. Back in the day, there was much more pressure to 'fit' into some kind of mode. Let freedom reign I say.

Been married 36 years with zero kids by choice. Had family that would tell me 'You have to have kids! Who's going to take care of you when you are old?' We've managed this long. Besides the world is over populated as it is.

I think having them is to be able to launch good and decent people into the next generation going forward.

Besides the world is over populated as it is. Now-a-daze even with kidz they don't always take of ya in old age, they frequently take off and live their own life, or stick the parents in a nursing home and forget about 'em, and never visit. The kids that do stick around to take care of aging parents have an extra burden on their life & family. Things are changing fast in todays world. It's not like it was 100+ years ago with a family running a farm & the kids take over the farm after the parents pass away- or take over a family business for that matter. People seem to go their own way today.

Kraut you should go black brother I don't go by skin color, I go with the women I like best and get along with, all the women I have known were white for the most part. You should never pick a woman based on the way she looks or her appearance, it's what's inside that counts and how ya get along with her. After high school I went with a chick named "Rhonda"(from work) wow, she was a knockout, she was so pretty I felt like jello around her, then she wore real tight pants totally awesome & gorgeous lookin'. Went to Stoney Lake with her once in '74 or '75 (North of metro Detroit) She drove a dark green Mustang. It's hard to be yourself when your around such a gorgeous lady that's for sure. I find myself still thinking about her now & then, wonder what became of her. She'd be old like me now.

What about an "Island Chick"? Did anyone here ever go out with a South Pacific Island Chick? Vietnam is said to have some knock out women according to people who fought in the Vietnam war back in the early 1970's..

I kid you not.
