Racism = Racial Prejudice + Power The key to understanding racism is its relationship to power. Non sequitur. No at all. Priviledge comes from power.

No at all. Priviledge comes from power. That would make affirmative action case in point, along with protected classes

I like to post stuff that causes real conversations. Even when they cause threads started by other members

I believe we speak English in this forum, no? Here is the primary definition of the English word "racism" according to Merriam Webster: a belief that race is a fundamental determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race
also : behavior or attitudes that reflect and foster this belief : racial discrimination or prejudice
Nothing about power No there is nothing about power. Racism is not the special word for one color. As you said in another post, we are all a color, just different shades.

Wrong... but nice try. Racism only works because one set of people want to put other people down or take things away from other people. It has nothing to do with "power". It has everything to do with power. Wrong. It has everything to do with one group of people thinking that they are better or more deserving than one or more other group(s).

Nothing about power Probably because racism has nothing to do with power.

Many times if a white person is treated bad or some-such by a person of color the white person does not recognize it as racism they just move on with life, things like as being shunned by a restaurant or by a store employee, while people of color sometimes see every little thing as being racist even if it's not, if they get bad service in a restaurant they think it's racism even if a white person is treated just as bad- or sometimes an employee is just having a bad day and takes it out on the customers a person of color could see that as racism, a white person may not.
