Following a new state education reform law signed by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, one school district removed over 170 books from its libraries. The district reminded educators that failing to comply with the new law could lead to teachers being charged with a felony. Christian Benavides has more. www.yahoo.com/news/over-170-books-banned-florida-235606819.html

None of this would be going on if it wasn't for Covid...Because mommy and daddy were forced to actually act like real parents and be home with their own children and decided that books that have been in school libraries for years all of a sudden are bad because they are pissed because mommy can't screw the pool boy while daddy's at work with his secretary bent over his desk during lunch break...
I actually laugh my azz off thinking about people having kids and in their miniscule planning of it all say to themselves well from 5-18 years of age I will not have to deal with them because that is a teachers job then will either send them off to college or boot them out of the house...Today's parents are pathetic...
But my favorite part is them calling this "education reform" instead of bigotry and trying to shield these special little germ sacks from people that may have a different thought process or see their happiness different than others...
Want to know why the school system is failing, just look at the so-called parents...

Which is why the schools think they have to feed kids breakfast , lunch and supper because the lazy arse parents are derelict in their duties. So, the schools should be calling CPS a whole lot more to find out why there is so much child neglect

Well I'd say that is probably an appropriate guess...Just because you may consider it strange it is the way I see it, have a feeling others see it that way but won't voice it so they are not considered 'strange' by others...

Schools start at 7 or 8 in the morning and go from 3-4 in the afternoon. That's why they have to feed kids. But leave it to a right winger to come up with the most ludicrous opinions. Of course we have to feed kids. But we also have programs to send food home after school and on and on. And I support that. But, someone should be looking at WHY kids are being neglected and the things that prompt these programs. You wanna belly ache but you never want to hold anyone accountable for anything

Did you notice the concentration behind how the topic of banning books is trying to get changed to food in schools...Let's not talk about the issue at hand that would make to much sense...

Ok, let's go back to books. The school district has a responsibility to review the books and curriculum and put forth material that is age appropriate and educational.

So a book that was consider institutionally educational for the last 10-15 years and has gone through the vetting process is now pulled because mommy decides she does like little Mary Jane reading it because mommy experimented with her roommate in college and doesn't want to be asked questions about it???

Not really. The pandemic made people realize that the public schools are a failure and that they need to take more control. Oh, and a lot more home religious teaching going on. Soooo, probably aren't going to see the unraveling that you want.

Just because liberal teachers want to indoctrinate and groom the kids doesn't make those books that help do that "appropriate".

That's not being done in Florida and you know it.. Drop the plausible deniability fuzzems, we all see what's going on. You can't teach black history such as civil rights, but you can teach black conservative ideology.Yes blacks must all be indoctrinated to be docile with smiling faces as we recite the lawn jockey mambo to please massa so that maasas wittle fewings don't get hurt because massa mus aways beez numba 1. Black History and ACTUAL civil rights can be taught... but fantasies like The 1619 Project and CRT and SJW garbage are out.

Only certain books and authors have been banned. Others have been allowed to stay with equally controversial topics. Books about war don't get pulled and if sex is too graphic, stories about people getting half their bodies blown off is too. It's just time for right wing whites to become adults. The bible should be banned, so graphic!

The bible should be banned, so graphic! This is indeed true. Therefore all churches must be closed. Especially in Florida. Sunday school cannot be taught. Churches are NOT Governmental entities. And therein lies the difference... (and I hate the indoctrination of religion... thanks for making me defend them)

The bible should be banned, so graphic! From K-12 school? Absolutely... as should the Qur'an, the Talmud, and any other religious tomes. But not due to any "graphic nature"... but because of separation of Church and State.
