Wait....is it 2024 or 1969? It was 2024 until someone resurrected the thread.

This just made me think that we, who are slightly older people, have been through so much and seen so much change over the years and decades. From little black and white TV's to talking to people thousands of miles away on a small hand held device (cell phone). Quite incredible when you think about it. I wonder what the next several decades will bring? 30. 40 or 50 years from now. Will the world change so much that we will have a hard time recognising it? I have a feeling that robots will be much more common place and it will be hard to tell the difference between actual humans and robot people. And what about pets? I imagine having a robot dog, that looks and acts just like a real dog, but never gets sick and never has to die? 40 years ago my dad actually described devices that could be held in the hand & talk face to face with ones hundreds of miles away. He watched Star Trek & thought a lot of the 'gadgets' they had on that show would one day be reality. I really wish he could see how right he was!

It all starts with someone's imagination. And then try and find a way to make it a reality. I talk to my friend, who lives in the UK quite often via my cell phone and WhatsApp, face to face. The other day I forgot what time it was and woke her up, it was the middle of the night for her!(We still chatted for over an hour anyway)
