Ok, I realze I am unjust in my before post, too much so just to edit, so, maybe a little Spanish Course (in this vid both languages are present in sub-titles), as I always liked this man best in Spanish (English in his music just sounds like a copy..!?)...
I recall vividly the "Bailando con los muertos" bit, but cannot seem to find it on utube, the best song Sting (one of my *heros* music wise) has ever done..("dancing with the dead", about Chile).
Lacking this power-up, here what is on my speakers in this dark hour, take it from a soldier who has (.... censored).

I have been following it up a bit on the net, Stings best song (and it was in Spanish) is not to be found on utube as such, US wont like it my guess, too much censorship going on today, even 15 yrs later when something occured that the world does not want to see:"Bailando con los muertos"(Dancing with the Dead).
The only one I found on utube where you can hear him in this song singing Spanish features as a Peter Gabriel piece (! does not goolgle as sting, if I hadnot known that the two did it I woudl not have found it, here goes your censors, you all are ok with that?), but listenting to it (wiht all its osund defects) you wilol get what I am tryi9ng to understand at this imeÖ, as always, as someone who takes things seriously, and too much so, sometimes...
NOTE THe English translation is the US allowed translation (all others were refused to be transmitted by the chains), it to the point of ridiculousness has nothing to do with the original, that is why I put up both... If I find the time I will provid my own translation, do we have any guys in trenchcoats here?
The original lyrics, to which the song has been censored since time, I found an adaption which seems to be allwoed, first in Spanish, then in English, and the translation is the song but it loses in English as central parts dont make it to the English lyrics (why do I have a hunch thze mjority here will not even check the lyrics or listen at lest once consciously? Oh, I know, my alc has made me cynical, and probably right you are... but why did you not listne? You did not know I was drunk tonight, nor that Sting is deaf now...):
Well, even in this Peter Gabriel version, one thing is clear (in English but n0ot in Spanish, probably tghe US selling democracy to nations as Iraq cannot accept that they killed it in Chile, Argentinia and elsewhere, PRAISED BE THE INTERNET):"Comes the day that we will dance on your graves, being free!"("Un dia danzaremos sobre sus tumbas, libres"):
SPANISH:
"Esta cancion esta dedicada a los familiares de los desaparecidos"(This song is dedicated to the familiy members of the vanished)
ENGLISH:

RANT MODE ON
P.S.: Over the years, and also here, I have taken a lot of - from my POV - shit for having been - and mentally still being - a convinced soldier, my tae is that there are some - misgided or not - to defend your right to just say what you think (incl insulting me here) even if I dont feel like liking it, dont ever forget it who mde thispossible for you and even encourages you to use those liberties:
Who else will be there when the shit hits the fan, if not a soldier? We may have been stupid at 17 to enroll and do what we did, we live (if we do) with what came from it, but we did what you only talk about (probably because we were stupid, but now we are much older, what do you think that makes, if we were not stupid after all, just young? We now look at the world probably a bit more deillusioned than you, but with a firm background you youngsters still have to prove to yourself, and also with an ideology, based on some experiences.Talking is easy....).
We all, everybody, have our history, I dont see why we soldiers should be judged as "bad!" for having taken a decison in our history when we were young. Once you youngsters will hit the 50 you all will also have your history on your back and find you are doubting things you did at 18, and find you didnt search for it. Hopefully you will find comfort in the thought that this is what happens if you try to do the right thing at whatever age, so please get off my (and especially off the back of some of my friends here) back for having been in the military (sorry, dont want to offend, but also dont want to get offended, alc speaking here).
You dont like the military, fine with me. I dont like it either. Things happen.
You think that habving been in the military makes me a "baddy" No. THINK! and pull your own nose: What are you doing right now that might be judged differntly in 30 years time? Ah?,,,,
Here you go, we all are what we have lived. and everybody in the end will have a cadaver in his cellar...
I could say soooo much more, but: RANT MODE OFF

As you can see from posting time and last edit time, I as always have needed some hours to complete the work and to reflect about what I actuall had said. Getting sober to a point where the keyboard is not double anymore at 4 in the morning, also helps... As a result, and following up on my last rant, rather furious, as an addendum within the thread take this then, two things I feel equally alike within my soul & mind, make of it what you thinks (and this was my one and only - at least true - contribution to the BunnyBoiler thread, if a bit premature, as unasked for ;D A rather crude translation (the Boikot version is much shorter and changed a lot in comparison with the original which, for anecdotical reasons, I will put to the P.S.): I like this song,"Reload": Rattler P.S.: A pop version of the song (Che Guevara), with the orignial lyrics and an impacting vid, but musically it is way behind to some of my vas collection of it (I find it strange that we always fall for faces/bodies in a vid, and not for th kmusic?) R. P.P.S.: The first time I really understood the song (I didnt speak Spanish some 30 yrs ago) was when the (East)German artist Wolf Biermann (who was our democrats hero then, 1976, in the West) had his first concert in (West)Germany and sang it in his own words in German... For me the concert (I was there) was a turning point in my life: When the GDR after the concert refused to let him enter the East again (a bit of a luck for us as his daughter Nina Hagen made it to the West in ´78 also and rewarded us with a lot of great music, even if what she does today with almost 60 is crap, but then there is now her daughter Shiva Hagen... etc...) when he was only stating so wise and clear things about what would make a better world and where the problems in his communist GDR laid without being any disrespective I lmyself instantly ost all respect for East German politicians and the Communist party there, and this was the first blow to my left heart, to be followed by the Stan, when the Russkies went in. As my father always had said: If you are not a commie with 16 you have no heart; if you´re still a commie at 35 you have no brain... OK, so this was more BonnyBoyler stuff, but here it definitely ends...;D R.

Hey Rattler my friend...I know what you're saying....and btw I'm going to St. Gallen in October...need anything from over there....? PM OTW to you re: St. Gallen, my contacts did not yield. Rattler P.S.: And to all, sorry for my inability to correctly type the other night, by now I corrected some of the worst to make it readable... JFTR, I got my just reward, I was bodily out of service completely yesterday, and suffering... Today managed to ingest my first solid food again...;D After nights like this I always tend to feel slightly (a lot) embarrassed, but then, thats what it was. Always sorry, though, if I offended anybody. R.

Rattler, it looks like you've led a very interesting life. Not more than probably the same way most other lives are interesting if you look at them from a distance, but then, if you mention some highlights compressed, that might give wrong ideas. Also: I am not as dead yet as your phrase suggests, the same life still going on AFAIK...;D Rattler

ufff, memories....! Those were the times when musicians would still be in kindof contact with thier audience, unthinkable today, what happens in this video below, what with audience on stage, singing with the band, etc... Here´s to the Magic Mamas and their "Mean Tarots" that are breeding dwarfs below their four-way stereos, and also to all other folks who still remember when the word "unconcho" was invented... Enjoy!(also the great guitar solo of Muffin Man!) Rattler

^ Frank Zappa was very talented. It's a shame we don't hear his music played much nowadays.
