I read the books, really enjoyed them. Historical fiction with a twist. I put off watching the series because I did not think they could match my imagination on film. Its pretty close, I am enjoying the tv series so long story short, I recommend it.👍

I don't think that is the "outland" I'm thinking about. There was a film called "Outland" about a colony living on a moon of Jupiter, or something like that, it's from 1981. That's the only "outland" I know.

Wal-Mart has the movie "Ben-Hur" from 1959 for only $5.00, it has two discs the film is supposed to be good and is rated as one of the best films- I have not watched it yet it's 222 minutes long, the DVD has a commentary and some facts from behind the scenes during the filming.

Nothing good on the tube last nite so I watched a few episodes of "Gunsmoke" on DVD- one episode I watched was about a bank robbery by a farmer - after there was a run on the bank in Dodge City the farmer feared he'd lose all his life savings, so he went into the bank at night and helped himself to his savings.(I think the title of that episode was "Roots Of fear")
Another episode I watched was about a robber who robbed a stage coach, he hid the gold coins before he was captured and when he got out of prison he tried to find someone to change his gold coins into paper money. The gold coins were uncirculated and brand new dated from the robbery year. too risky to have those robbery coins start to show up in circulation. The robber tried to get his wife to exchange them in for paper money.

Outlander is incredible, best series I watched last year. I agree. It's up there with the top 5 that Netflix has to offer. I've binge watched all the seasons so far

Yes sauerkraut, Outland was an older movie. Outlander is a time travel thing. I like "Time-Travel" films. An interesting movie about time travel is the one from H.G. Wells called "The Time Machine" from 1960, they bring up good points about the science of time travel. Anyhoo the flick took place on New Years eve 1899- just before the flip of the 20th century, an interesting time peroid in American history. Aside from all the paradoxes that pop up with "real" time travel is the question can you travel back in time before the time machine was built? If ya built a time machine in the year 2000 and it's now 2022 can you only travel back in time to the year 2000? Or can you go back before 2000 before the time machine was built? if so that would un-leash tons of new paradoxes. Time travel is a tuff concept to wrap our brains around.
