'I refuse to take on my sister's kids after she dies - people think I'm selfish'
A 25-year-old woman has hit back at claims she's 'selfish' for not wanting to take on her sister's kids after she passes away, as she and her husband have never wanted children.
Her sister has three children, a six-year-old, a two-year-old and a newborn, and has begged her younger sister to step in and take care of them when she passes, as they have no other family and she doesn't know the paternity of her kids.
"Her ex-husband wants nothing to do with the kids since she had cheated on him for years with many men and they aren't his," she wrote.
However, the woman has decided she won't take on her sister's kids as she and her husband agreed not to have children when they got married.
"It would be unfair to ask my husband to make this kind of sacrifice. We both agreed to no kids when we got married - to change something like that generally means a divorce," she explained.
Not only that, she and her husband are atheist, while her sister wants her children to be raised in church, which obviously wouldn't fit in with their lifestyle.

No I don’t think she should have to. It is not her responsibility. However I suppose there are some countries where they could force that upon you.
However it is very sad for the kids that nobody is willing to step up to protect them.
Probably would be best to put them up for adoption to a loving family

Mom should feel guilt. She was irresponsible running around and cheating. However that is not the fault of the children so the ex must not be much better than she is. Very sad however that there are no relatives that give a damn.

Probably would be best to put them up for adoption to a loving family I never knew that in some countries kids could be forced on you? Can you imagine the horrible life these kids would have being raised by someone who doesn't even want them? I think adoption would perhaps be the best option if no one in the family is willing to step up. Personally I would take them in a heartbeat.

I mean I suppose there might be some countries that could at least make relatives their legally and finacially responsible guardians.

While morally she probably should take them she shouldn't HAVE to. She didn't have them and they aren't her kids.
