Very sad news the lovely Miss Raquel Welch has just died at the age of 82, the only reports were a quick illness. Sounds like Cindy Williams a short illness. No cause for the death was given. Miss Welch was born in 1940 and stared in many films. She also went with Bob Hope and do those USO tours for the troops with him when she was young. Bridgett Bardot is still around but she too is getting old.
They say those deaths happen in 3's. First it was Cindy Williams, now Raquel Welch, will there be a 3rd- or not? Hope the cycle will be busted once & for all.

But yes it is sad when someone dies.

But yes it is sad when someone dies. The deaths that happen in 3's is for famous people only- or so they say- in many cases it does seem to pan out. Kinda like the "27 Club" where famous people mostly singers die at the age of 27, Janus Joplin is a member some of the others are Jim Morrison, Amy Winehouse, Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix and the club goes all the way back to Robert Johnson who lived from 1911-1938. All were 27 years old when they died, most deaths seem to be either self-inflected or drugs. I googled it and it said the most common age for famous people to die is age 56.

I think we could probably find 3 celebs dying pretty much any time we wanted too. Indeed but they are supposed to be very famous and die very close to each other, Farrah Fawcett & Michael Jackson and Ed McMahon all died closed together. I don't believe it but that's a common belief with some people- just as is the "27 Club". It does make ya glad to be older than 27 though so you know you'll never be drafted into that club. Actually Fawcett died at 2:28 am on June 25th at age 62 and Michael Jackson died 12 hours latter that same day at 2:26 pm, and Ed McMahon died on June 23rd, but ya can always find some famous people who died close together, it's just a matter of how famous is famous. Someone real popular & famous or someone who's not well known.

Ok, Cindy Williams just died and now Raquel Welch let's see if a 3rd pops up. Test the theory.

Always sad when someone passes away. I feel the same way if they are famous or just a local person.
I always thought Raquel Welch's looks were the kind of good looks that money buys. Good hairdresser, stylist and photographer. I don't think she was a natural beauty in the sense of Marilyn Monroe or Natalie Wood for instance.

Welch was the first " sexy" starlet I recall. Ursula Andress too. Indeed Miss. Welch was a classic gorgeous 1960's icon in her short skirts and beautiful figure. What about the lovely Miss Bridget Bardot? She was dazzling in her 30's and today shes 88 years old. Ursula Andress made motion picture history in 1962 when she came out of the Ocean in her white Bikini, she was a knock out I bet the people in the theater watching that film for the first time were just dazzled by her beauty & figure. When I was 10 years old in 1965 I had a big crush on Barbara Eden watching her in "I Dream Of Jennie"- I wished she was my Jennie (or my Genie). I also had a crush on Carylon Jones from the Addams Family, she really turned me on with her long hair and long finger nails, I heard that her long hair was only a wig though. BTW in "I Dream Of Jennie" Barbara Eden also played the part of her evil sister twin in the green garb. When they both had to be on the screen at the same time the one with her back to the camera was a stand in.

The ages of some actresses make me really feel old. Loni Anderson is turning 77 (WKRP in Cincinnati fame) Tina Turner is going on 83, Angela Cartright is 70, and Faye Dunaway is 82 she was dazzling in the "Bonnie & Clyde" film of 1967 and she was also in "Network" from 1976. Jane Seymour is going on 72, A top notch singer Debbie Harry from Blondie is turning 78 if ya can believe that. She was totally awesome when she was 30 years old singing live on stage and in her videos. WoW 78 years old hard to believe. Jerry Mathers is around 74 years old.
Marcia, Marcia, Marcia Brady is turning 66 years old (Maureen McCormick) Nancy Sinatra is 82, Melissa Gilbert is 57 and I'm older than dirt myself.

Welch was the first " sexy" starlet I recall. Ursula Andress too. I was too young in '62 to see the film "Dr. No" in the theaters when Ursula Andress made her mark in history in her white bikini, but as I said I had a huge crush on Barbara Eden when I was 9 or 10 years old, and she was a grown woman, another actress I had a crush on was "Carol Wayne" her voice was something else she died very young. As for popular actresses getting old many of the Bond girls are getting up there in age- and everyone has their favorite Bond girl.(actually I have 2 Bond girls as my favorites Barbara Bach & Jill Masterson from "Gold Finger" But Ursula Andress is rated as the # 1 Bond Girl.) Once a girl becomes a Bond girl she becomes much more popular and her future career and acting jobs increase.

Two famous people I'd like to meet in person would be Barbara Eden & Catherine Bach.(Jennie & Daisy Duke) I guess Daisy Duke gets credit for "inventing" those "Daisy Duke Shorts". The term has become a nationally known article of clothing, everyone knows what that is. I heard that Barbara Eden will even do the Jennie "blink" if ya ask her.
