No, because some people who might have been more qualified back then weren't, for the most part, allowed to be more qualified. Well that goes without saying.

The black ladies were too busy figuring out how launch a rocket into orbit Did you ever see the movie Hidden Figures? Phenomenal movie, inspiring story. I saw the movie. And the reason it was even considered to be movie material is because it was so much not the norm back then. And even then, they had to fight for every little crump of consideration they were given, What a waste of intellect. In a fair and just world some of those women would have gone much further.

Absolutely. I am not ignorant of nor unsympathetic to the plight of the discriminated against back then. It was and always will be wrong.

only white people signed up and passed all tests it's no wonder they were all white. Why do you think that was the case huh, SK? Because they didn't apply for the job, if no one applies for a job they can't very well hire them. NASA had a very old black lady who was a expert in math, she figured out all the math stuff in the early years of space flight she has since retired a few years ago I think she was around 80 years old. She was black, worked at NASA and was a math wiz. Her story made the national news when she retired. It must also be remembered to that there are more white people than black people in our population, so having a larger percentage of whites in any job is expected unless whites are banned by some affirmative action thing where only people of color can be hired.

Did NASA skip over more qualified people in order to have that crew? Did they do that in the 1960's? and the decades that followed do you think? Not likely because in the early years they had to have only the best of the best in space flight so nothing will go wrong, this was all new stuff, experimental. and only top experts in the field can be used. Kinda like the movie "The Right Stuff" from 1983 and the famous 7 mercury astronauts they had them do all sorts of testing the ones who flunked were let go and they were white.

So the best of the best could only be white men. They can't be anything else if no one else applies for the job and only white people apply. Ya can't hire a person of color or put them in space if they don't apply for the job. We had no female astronauts in NASA for years till they started to apply for that job.

I tell one crew they will celebrate the first all non-white crew, the media will play that up for all it's worth. I'm color blind I just believe the most qualified people should get the nod to go. I will say IMO the first fight to Mars will be a suicide mission, or they will never return back to Earth if they manage to land on Mars. I dunno if I'd like to be buried on another planet, God should still be able to find ya on Judgement Day but still being buried alone far from earth on a planet like Mars. I guess that will happen in the future some time, someone will die on Mars and you can't waste fuel and space craft space to haul home a dead body- or will they?

There is no evidence that would suggest that this crew is not the most qualified group of people at this moment for the mission. What are you seeing that I'm missing?

His hood slipped over his eyes. I genuinely do not understand the thought process of so many people.
