Just a little quiz with perhaps some badges here you may not recognise but they are all from top end cars (ie expensive), some old and still going, some old and defunct, one is only three years old! American, Japanese, British, French, German, Italian and an enigmatic Spanish one too. No prizes either, just acclaim 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. 11. 12. 13. 14. 15. 16. 17. Not in the quiz but here are a few lovely old mascots from various cars. I love Art Deco and to some degree Art Nouveau, I think that is why I love them. I'll not id certain ones yet as some belong to the bonnets of the above cars albeit in some cases for only a few years in their histories... This first one is my favourite. Not very pedestrian friendly though! Without cheating I don't think I know that many! I like cars but never really take notice of the kind of decal or badges that comes with them. Have you noticed that the newer cars are missing them on the whole? Shame isn't it?

I just had another look at all those wonderful mascots from cars that you posted, steve. They really were something weren't they?
I understand that only the more expensive cars have them added now.

Yes, it's just Rollers, Merc's, Maybach's (mostly seen in Dubai and China) that seem to have them now. I think there is a health and safety law in the UK which also stipulates against them (pedestrian safety). I suppose if Hispano Suiza was still going, you wouldn't want that flying Stork up your ass!...Lol

Yeah I can imagine that, steve. Funny thing is I used to see pictures of naked or almost naked women on the back of semi-trucks, but for the last few years they seemed to have disappeared. I wonder if there was some kind of law introduced or the trucking companies such matured up a bit!
