What optical effects appear when we accelerate? Could we reach the speed of light? And what would we see when we try to go faster? All these answers in 15 minutes!

Aside from the time relative thing, alot of strange things happen ya can see things from behind you on the front view screen. Ya really can't reach 100% the speed of light anyhoo the most ya can hope for 99% and even that is pushing it. Carl Sagan showed what would happen in his 1980 "Cosmos" series if ya try to go at the speed of light. The 'time' thing is the most concerning if ya plan to return to Earth, a few hours ship time going at the speed of light and ya return to Earth decades could of passed but for you on board the ship it felt as if you were just gone a few hours. It's very interesting stuff. If ya travel near the speed of light for longer time spans such as weeks, months or years when ya return to Earth centuries would of passed on Earth.

I remember some joke, I think that it was Father Guido Sarducci, that went something like...
Let's say you're driving your corvette in outer space at the speed of light and you decide to put on your headlights. What happens?

You cannot add to the speed of light, Guess you'll be riding along in the beam of light

I wish I could be here 100 years from now.
I'm pretty sure the world as we know it will no longer exist.

I wish I could be here 100 years from now. I'm pretty sure the world as we know it will no longer exist. It'll be interesting to see what changes took place and the advancements in the next 100 years, to the people of the future we'll look just as primative to them as the people of 1924 look to us today. Change's are happening so fast too, look at all the changes that took place in just the past 20 years. The changes that took place since I was born are stunning, even our TV sets are different than what they were just a few decades ago with flat screens and high def. The advancements that happened are wild. I can't help but wonder what it'll be like in another 100 years.
