I just checked it out and it does look good. Was it good? Oh yeah we are just on episode 4 but hanging on the edge. I see that it's on Prime. I don't have Prime, but I might join just a for while. There are a few things on there I want to see.

I finished watching "Enron: The smartest men In the Room" it's pretty good, during the hearings in Congress one guy was asked "Exactly how does, or- what does Enron do to make it's money? The one question no one could/would answer. The one guy who was asked said "I dunno I'm just the accountant" You'd Have to ask Jeffery.
Then I started watching the DVD "Tora, Tora, Tora" it's pretty good it runs for 144 minutes I just watched about 40 minutes of it so far I'll pick it up latter when I got time. It won awards when it was released in 1970.

I watched some more of the DVD "Tora, Tora, Tora" actually it was not a total surprise attack they expected something in Washington, DC- one guy who kept track of the de-coder machine tracking the chatter of Japan thought they would attack Hawaii on Sunday November 30th, 1941- he was not off by much. That film is really absorbing. I also watched "Highway Thru hell" one driver was killed in a massive wreck. It's amazing how those big rigs can be ripped apart in a crash, many have their axels torn out and under carriage of the trailer ripped out, I never seen big rigs so torn up, even the tires and wheel rims get crushed like soup cans. A fire is is something else there are no fire departments so they have to let the fire burn it's self out- and it can burn the big rig down to nothing the trailer is all aluminum and it burns up and the cab is all plastic/fiberglass/aluminum and it burns down to the frame & engine.

I finished watching "Tora, Tora, Tora" it ended when a Jap commander said "We may have awakened a sleeping giant" The DVD has alot of extras and Movietone news reels of the events of 1941 I have not watched those yet. The film gave both view points of the war from the Jap side & American side. Makes me wonder what would of happened if we had a president back then like Joe Biden?? Roosevelt wanted to keep us out of war in the 1930's as the war flared up in Europe - Biden likely would of jumped into WWII in the 1930's if he was president. After the attack by Japan on Dec.07, 1941 we had to enter the war. I wonder what Biden would of done if he was president in 1941? Would he try to appease Japan or pay them off to be nice? As Obama said "Leave it to Joe to "F" everything up"
Ask yourself this: What would Biden have done if he was president during the Peal Harbor attack? Would Biden be fit and up to the task?

I watched some of the 'extras' on that Tora, Tora, Tora DVD, disc #2 has 10 of those old "Movietone" films. I only watched 3 of them so far. I enjoy history and found them very absorbing. It must have been something to live back during WWII, in 1942 and some of 1943 we were not doing so well and the gov't didn't want the people to know about that.
Back in the day before TV local movie houses showed newsreels of current events before the main feature film. The people got to see what was going on in the war front. If ya had a family member in the war you had a blue star on the window if your family member died you had a gold star in the window placed over the blue star.
Those war scrap metal drives were just to make the people in the home front feel as if they were doing something to help the war effort, but in reality they were not used for the war- I guess it just went to landfills of something.
I guess during the war people questioned when they seen an able-bodied young male on the streets why he was not overseas fighting the war- They were drafting men up to the age of 45. I guess it no wonder everyone was so happy when the war ended and that sailor kissed that girl in the streets-
This is interesting it cost $25 million dollars to make the movie "Tora, Tora, Tora" in 1968-69 More money that what Japan spent on the attack on Pearl Harbor.

I watched the rest of the "Tora, Tora, Tora," DVD extras, they had 10 short films (from 'Movietone') on disc two about WWII, I found it very absorbing. Our country was totally different back then. We actually fought to win the war and there were no protesters on the streets rootin' for the enemy- what has changed so much in the past 80 years?
I have some old VCR tapes put out by Time Mag. called "Time Marches On" I have not watched them in a while- they have old films from the 1930's and 1940's of all sorts of things in American life. I guess they were shown at one time in movie houses before the feature film. Anyhow one tape featuring the 1930's talked about the war on Cancer and how we're winning it- I think it was from 1936, Was surprised to see that in 1936 they had a big fight against cancer and how medical science is winning that fight. Here we are 90 years latter and we still have cancer.

I watched an old VCR tape I bought in 2001 put out by The Discovery Channel called "Great Planes" it features the making of the first Boeing 747 and the famous Boeing 777 jetliners. Boeing started work on the 747 before their factory in Seattle was built in 1966, the plane was finished in 1969. The tape runs for 100 minutes. Then it goes into the making and development of the Boeing 777. At the time that was the top of line bird- today they have the 787. I have tons of old VCR tapes boxes and boxes full.

"Weird Earth" is only on Saturday & Sunday night but they seem to be all repeat episodes, one was the double sun over London episode. I watched some of my old VCR tapes I have tons of them I watched "Life In The 1930s" a VCR tape I bought at the Columbus, Ohio Library book sale, I also found a tape "OJ Simpson the opening Statements" from the Columbus, Ohio Library- I have so many tapes I find tapes I forgot I had every time I dig thru 'em. I didn't watch the OJ tape but I did watch an game show "Spin The Wheel" That I recorded a few years ago- What a flip, in one episode the woman played it too safe and took the sure thing $40,000 cash when she could of gone all the way and won $600,000.00, in the other episode they had sure thing offers of over $106,000.00 but waited hoping for more- they had over $500,000.00 on the big wheel but then the wheel stopped at "Back To Zero" they lost everything going home with nothing. The show "Spin The Wheel" is a bit like the show "The Wall" with different twists.
