An ‘End Date’ for ‘Whiteness’?
Just when we thought the American academy couldn’t devolve any further, along comes Rutgers professor Brittney Cooper.
If you want to see real racism in action, you need look no further than the proponents of critical race theory on America’s college campuses. CRT teaches that all white people and the institutions they create and support are inherently racist. It is as ideologically bankrupt an idea as you’re likely to come across in modern society, but it has burrowed itself deep into our modern academic, social, and commercial institutions.
Brittney Cooper, an associate professor of gender and Africana studies at Rutgers University, is a prime example of the poison being spewed by the hard Left. Her racist rant from last year is still making the rounds on social media.
In a hate-filled video that has gotten millions of views, Cooper goes on and on in classic leftist fashion, in love with the sound of her own voice and not once coming up for air. She talks about how white people fear the end of their power over other races and how white culture is synonymous with oppression and subjugation. She also includes some clever myths about how black and brown people lived in harmony on the American continent before whites arrived and enslaved everybody. Blacks came to America before white Europeans? They lived in harmony?
Blacks in Africa were far from a harmonious and peace-loving lot. They warred with one another just as much as white Europeans did. Blacks also widely practiced slavery, buying and selling one another to other black tribes and nation-states as well as to white slave traders. The same goes for the supposedly peaceful indigenous people. Cooper conveniently leaves these widely known and well-established truths out of her rant.
After spinning a fact-free yarn about colonial history, Cooper then looks to the future where white people will apparently, she hopes, not exist.“We gotta take these muthaf***ers out,” she says before quickly adding that she’s not advocating violence. She seems quite content, though, with the eventual disappearance of white people as a race.
“Whiteness,” she says,“is going to have an end date.”
It’s the same hate-filled garbage that decent people of all colors have fought against for decades. But because Cooper is black, and because she marches under the CRT banner, not only did her tirade not get her fired, she has become a celebrity on the race-hustling circuit. Don’t take our word for it; see for yourself (language warning):
