Actually I don't like eating steak much. Not much of a meat lover of any kind really. I am that way with fish. I don't really like fish much. Once in a while but I dont' really care to cook it. I like shrimp the most but sometimes I think of them as little scavengers of the sea. Now if we travel to a coast or ocean where there is fresh seafood, then yes, i will eat seafood all week long on a beach vacation. But normal every day life, it's generally beef, chicken and occassionally pork. I prefer fish to meat! Funny how we can all have such different tastes. Above all I like my vegetables.

I cook a steak past medium rare.... it's the dogs food... Well, I would find that wasteful but that's your choice. I can use even well done steak for fajitas, steak salad or steak with gravy over noodles or many other things. And the price of steaks, not something I am going to just toss to my dog. I mean I make my dog her food so I wouldn't mind giving it to her but at the price, I can still use and enjoy it either way.

I understand that but my dogs get ribeyes twice a week as it is LOL. And we all have our likes and hates. Mine is over cooked steak, I won't eat it and neither will hubby.

I have heard that sometimes diet preferences can be related to blood type or heritage, etc. Don't know if it's just what we grew up with or if that is part of it too. My mom rarely cooked fish. So, wasn't a staple in our house. I do LOVE veggies. All kinds of veggies. But, not so much a fruit eater. Everyone goes crazy over seasonal fruit and I can take it or leave it. But, i need my veggies, hot or cold.

I would love to try one, but I live in a rural area. Going anywhere for food like that is a day trip. I did get to have pho on vacation and that was yummy.

So I got to know my vegetables and to enjoy them. Fish we had more often than meat. I like fruit and vegetables. I probably eat more exotic fruits and veggies than most, as I grew up with eating non-European types.

medium rare for me, with big pile of sauteed mushrooms as a side. torn over which cut is my favorite... prime rib or filet mignon. a real splurge for me would be a trip to Ruth's Chris. went to one of those Brazilian steakhouses where waiters walk around with big swords loaded with cuts of beef. my late-great FIL got home from work at 4:00... like on the dot. if steak was gonna be dinner, my late-great MIL would buy some beautiful pieces of meat and then start cooking them at NOON!! what a waste! sil has an interesting way of cooking London broil. screaming hot grill... outdoors, of course. she cuts the meat on bias and then into a marinade. once all the pieces are laid out on a HOT grill, she starts turning. one turn only... then off the grill and onto warm platter. everybody has to be at the table when meat goes on the grill.
