Rare, medium or well done? The science of a perfect STEAK - and why you should NEVER cook one from frozen With Valentine's Day just around the corner, now is a great time to brush up on how to cook the perfect steak dinner. Experts have revealed how to keep the meat tender, flavoursome and chock full of vitamins, as well as the science behind it. The first step is choosing the right cut, as older meat which originated from an area on the cow with lots of movement tends to be tougher This is also the case when the steak is cooked from frozen, as the muscle contracts more as it cooks. MailOnline reveals exactly how to best prepare the decadent chop, and why it works www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-11710367/The-science-perfect-STEAK-NEVER-cook-one-frozen.html

Nothing wrong with a frozen steak. I have literally cooked steaks from completely frozen and tastes good to me. I love beef well done, medium well, medium , medium rare, whatever. I prefer medium though.

I mean that isn't the best way to cook it. If i have a steak in the freezer i fully thaw it and get to room temp first. Made one tonight actually

Um, never had that with a steak! Pretty yummy... Filet mignon wrapped in applewood smoked bacon and grilled ..covered in a Bleu cheese crust, served golden brown and sprinkled with roasted garlic cloves.

No more than medium, but med-rare is best. Montreal steak seasoning and grilled.
Herbed compound butter on top.

And certainly you can cook it to whatever temp you want. Watch some youtubes on that one time. And, sometimes life is about getting something down on a plate and you make it work.

I like my steak medium hot and pink in the center. I don't care for a pool of blood, no thanks. Just dont' enjoy that aesthetic. I have eaten medium rare because sometimes i order medium or medium well and still comes out that way. I mean if the steak is good, I can make it work

Actually I don't like eating steak much. Not much of a meat lover of any kind really.

I had a buffalo ribeye at a place in Estes Park, CO, that was amazing. Buffalo needs to be cooked rare, as it is very lean, and overcooking will make it like leather.

Actually I don't like eating steak much. Not much of a meat lover of any kind really. I am that way with fish. I don't really like fish much. Once in a while but I dont' really care to cook it. I like shrimp the most but sometimes I think of them as little scavengers of the sea. Now if we travel to a coast or ocean where there is fresh seafood, then yes, i will eat seafood all week long on a beach vacation. But normal every day life, it's generally beef, chicken and occassionally pork.
