I had to sue the state to get gender-affirming care behind bars. Having witnessed my mother's murder at 6, I grew up as a ward of the state of Maryland and had a traumatic, painful childhood full of abuse and disappointment. At 17, I ran away to Georgia and used sex work to get by — something I'd done since I was 14. Eventually, I found myself facing felony charges and was sentenced to 14 years in prison for conduct that occurred when I was 19. In 2012, I entered the Georgia prison system as a 21-year-old trans woman of color. I had to fight for my medical rights behind bars. I didn't know I had it in me, but my experiences and my eventual victory within the Georgia Department of Corrections were pivotal in showing me just how much strength and potential I have. www.yahoo.com/news/im-trans-woman-color-male-133700343.html

Or this person could have done something of value like join the military or get a real job instead of being a "sex worker"

And I thought Canadians were nice, in America you can be a convicted felon and the taxpayers will pay for you sex change...Canadians got nothing on Americans...I'm betting after a couple million people read this story and he/she starts getting threats of violence against he/she then we will see a gofundme or some other form of outpouring of cash it's way it's way...Amazing what this world has turned into...Maybe it will get a reality tv show and gets millions for that and then get speaking engagements from college and such and just keep making money for basically doing nothing...I'm sure some in the world will consider it a role model, I'm just not one... I have no problem with people doing what makes them happy but doing it on unknowing taxpayer's dollars when there are honest hard working people trying to make ends meet and never taking a dime they didn't deserve and there actually paying for this or ANY other criminals procedure is not right...jmo

Sooo... a man is in an "all male" prison. I don't see the problem.
