Vote for the movie you think was the best of the blockbusters.
You can discuss why you made your choice here. It will be interesting to see which movie gets the most votes.

I voted for Shawshank Redemption, but it was tough to choose between that one, The Green Mile, and Glory. All excellent movies with beautiful stories within. It was hard.
Just a little factoid: Glory is the only movie that I have gone to see by myself.

Great pick Springschick. We have the same taste in movies. I had a hard time choosing among the same three, but I went with Glory. No matter how many times I've seen it, I always cry. The casting was fantastic too.

It is long, but well worth the watch. You should catch it one day when you have time.

apple, Glory was based on the account of the first Northern all Black division who fought in the American Civil War, the 54th from Massachusetts. There is a memorial in Washinton to the brave men of the 54th which shamefully was defaced during riots. I am happy they have restored it. As Springschick said, great cast, can't forget Morgan Freeman.

Man, it was hard to pick just one movie. So, I picked Jaws. I have not seen all the movies from that list. I have never seen: The Godfather, Glory, Star Wars, Terminator, Apocalypse Now, A few Good Men, Planes Trains & Automobiles, Good Morning Vietnam, A Beautiful Mind. Thinking about it, it does seem like I have not seen most of them.

Enjoy Springschick. I just watched it again recently, I think it was on Netflix. Had to keep the box of Kleenex close, gets me every time.

Springschick, I often go back to some of the great movies in this poll because I am often disappointed with a lot of today's movies. The last couple my bestie & I watched were either depressing, boring or they dropped the ball at the end. We usually wind up saying was that even necessary, the stories were pointless, just a long, boring day in someone's life.

Most of them are Marvel movies or other "superhero" movies. I just watched "Wakanda Forever", and thought that was excellent. Also, the newest "The Batman" with Robert Pattinson was exceptional. Also,"Unhinged", with Russell Crowe, was intense. What I can't stand are the stupid comedies, like just about anything with Will Ferrell.

Some of the more recent Drama/Rom-Coms we watched had wonderful casts, but the plots were plodding with unsatisfying endings. I said what a waste of a good cast's talents.
