What a horrible way to die, to be stoned to death. Just barbaric. For supposedly committing adultery? Even if she has been raped? The first thing that came to mind was that is what is happening right now, in some Muslim countries. And all this in the name of religion.

You are so right deyana. Judgement without mercy fuels the type of brutal executions such as honor killings of women who were raped. If holier than thou people actually knew the truth about God as told in the Gospels, they would look inward at their own sins and not be so quick to judge others - Jesus taught us to pray to the Father "and forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us." In other words, we're asking God to mete out forgiveness of our sins with the same measuring cup as we use to forgive those who have offended us. That's the clear message Jesus sent to those who wanted to justify withholding mercy for the woman they were about to stone.
