Recently, I asked the BuzzFeed Community about their experiences with organized religion and why they chose to leave, and I received an overwhelming amount of stories. When the post was published, people shared even more stories in the comments section and via an anonymous Google Form. Everything you post is always negative. I did not think this was negative but then again I'm not one for religion or spirituality, however I respect those that follow and practice religious beliefs as long as it is a positive influence in their life... I simply found this interesting as it gives reasons why some may turn away from religion...But as always it is everyone's right to view the articles and me as they see fit... |

Do you thin spirituality is a necessity for every human??? Not a necessity, no, but something that adds another positive dimension to life. Fair enough...I guess I just find it easier to not consider it and find it simpler just to live without it... I do think that many find comfort in it and that is a positive aspect of having spirituality in one's life... |

Spirituality is different from religion.
I know atheists who admit that they believe life and the universe has a spiritual dimension.
If you look at what you might call the 'higher' things of life they're nearly always on a kind of spirtual level.
Art, music, literature, nature can all take you 'out' of the everyday world and transport you to a different sort of being.
But I also know we have to care about the here and now and the nitty gritty of life because otherwise you can just end up gazing into space and doing nothing worthwhile.

Hadn't been to a church in the last 8 years. With all the bad decisions and pain I've caused some I thought the walls might come down Brother I can't even walk by the place without the ground shaking and the old nuns running out and tossing holy water on me hoping I will burst into flames... You know the funny thing is I paid for the new roof on the place and all new bibles...Go figure... |

Do you really think God cares if you go to church or not? The body of Christ IS the church. Our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit. So there is really no "going". But I do think it is important to gather with fellow believers. So is that a yes or a no? |
