Drinking green tea can have dangerous consequences - Israeli study Researchers from Israel's Kaplan Medical Center discovered that drinking too much green tea can cause significant damage to the liver. We're all looking for easy ways to improve our health, and what's easier than drinking a cup of tea? Especially one that has been sold to us for years as a miracle cure. Products based on plants and other active ingredients, like green tea, are marketed as health products with abilities to help prevent cancer, prevent heart and metabolic disorders, anti-inflammatory properties and more. In fact, as of today, green tea is the second-most consumed beverage in the world. Recently, the popularity for its use for weight loss has been on the rise and products based on green tea have been gaining momentum in both Israel and abroad. www.jpost.com/health-and-wellness/nutrition/article-741683

And yet, green tea has been pushed as a healthy choice for so many years. I don't drink it myself. I hardly ever drink tea of any kind.

I drink some hot tea from time to time. Usually when I have a cold or something like that. I find it soothing then. But, as a beverage, I love the green tea. Do not care for regular tea or sweet tea or any other iced version.

A bit of this and that is probably the best way to go. Fads and diets come and go. I reckon our own bodies tell us what we need and don't need in the end. That and common sense.

Do not care for regular tea or sweet tea or any other iced version. I grew up drinking black tea. Or Char as it is called. Indian households are never without it. But it was laced with spices of some sort and lots of sugar and milk. So in the end it was like a thick syrupy tea. And on top of that the tea leaves were brewed, so it was a very strong tea. I can still drink that in small quantifies.

I kind of want to drink it daily. It's like a reward when I am on my way home from my work out. I bring it and leave it my car to sip on the way home. So, mostly I would want to drink it daily. In the article it said someone who is 23 got into problems drinking 2-3 cups a day. I usually brew 3 tea bags and make a large drink so that's basically 3 cups. Maybe I should check and see if the study was sponsored by Coca-cola! lol

I've been drinking green tea for years. Time to stop. You are going to stop drinking based on a study showing 100 documented cases?

You are going to stop drinking based on a study showing 100 documented cases? "Follow the science"😉 That's a very misinformed way of "following science". Everything in life is a "risk/benefit". There are indeed benefits of drinking green tea. Now we see there also risks. So one has to weigh the risk/beneifts of literally everything in life. Science gives pieces of the puzzle, it doesn't put the puzzle together for you, it simply gives insight to various possibilities. This is why the "follow the science" crowd is so dangerous. They will literally take ONE small study and try to create a dogma around it.

Do not care for regular tea or sweet tea or any other iced version. I drink unsweetened tea when I eat meat now. It helps prevent my organs from absorbing iron. Plus I really like to make sun tea in the summer.😁 I do like a good herbal blend on cooler nights too.

will admit to not reading every word. a few too many "could be"&"may/might be" comments for a food item that has been enjoyed/used by zillions over many centuries. i agree with sauerkraut... MODERATION is important with just aboot everything we put in our bodies. even water has to be consume with a certain amount of moderation.
