Not right in my opinion. It should be part of the service.
But nothing surprises me anymore when it comes to restaurant charges.

I can see a bit of a fee but $25 seems excessive.

Restaurants don't like it when ya bring in outside food or cakes. If you go to a auto repair shop and ask the guy to install a part that you bought they will charge ya a bit extra on the labor and there will be no warranty on the part or labor. In this case the cost should of been mentioned before hand.$25.00 is more than the price of the cake. Lucky it was only one cake slice, if it was 4 slices it would of been over $100.00. I dunno why they wanted someone else to cut the cake anyhow.

We have had bowling alley parties and bought pizza there but brought our own cake and such. Of course they don't sell cake so that's a bit different, but I always called ahead to make sure that was fine before doing it.
