what does this even mean?..."A new study from the US shows how food inequities writ large across the country..."
i also think the "fact"(have no stats to back this up) that less and less people choose to actually COOK their food HAS to be considered too. carbs are a no-no for many... especially diabetics. seems about 10% of population has diabetes and almost all are typ 2. i wonder what the difference is (nutritionally) between say... prepared mashed potatoes and a few of those cute little potatoes, squashed with a little butter, S&P?

Potatoes on their own are not really bad. It is what you put on them that jacks up the carbs and calories.
A medium russet potato has about 25 g of carbs.

There is more to it, in "Food Swamps" you have normally high crime or poor people and many supermarket stores are chased out of the area due to stealing also involved is the high rate of smoking, alcohol and MJ use and other un-healthy habits in poor areas which can account for the cancer increases. If ya notice too that many lottery places are located in poorer neighborhoods, why? because poor people think the lottery will be their ticket for being rich so they buy many lottery tickets, the lottery is like a tax on poor people. Ya don't see many sales of lottery tickets in upper class neighborhoods. Ya also don't see many alcohol selling establishments in upper class areas- there is a reason for that, most of the buyers of that stuff are lower class.
