I'm going to one today. Have you been to any lately? How do they normally turn out for you? I always find it interesting to see what others have bought with them. Sometimes there are dishes there that I have never had before, it gives me idea for recipes.
Someone always ends up bringing the jelly in fruit dish. Have you noticed?

Been to MANY potlucks... It's always interesting to see what people bring, and I like a wide variety of food so they are fun for me. I was at one this last weekend. We have a lot of basil in our garden this year so I made a pesto pasta salad.(I made a pesto, then mixed it with farfale pasta, cherry tomatoes, cukes, summer sausage, and peas.) Other things I have brought to potlucks: tabouleh, chicken biryani, chips with guacamole or pico de gallo, cheese & crackers. If I am pressed for time I may just stop at a bakery and buy something...

mmm....that platter sure looks good, TBN. I like it when there is so much to pick from. Spindrift, they are not really big in the UK are they? A Potluck is when a group of people get together for a meal (in my case it was lunch). They bring a 'Pot' of whatever kind of dish they prefer, and everyone else does the same. It's just a matter of 'Luck' as to what we all end up with! It can be fun, especially if people are from different countries and so you can end up with a big variety of food. Livaco, I'd like to be at one of your Potlucks! Your dishes sound just scrumptious. I know what you mean about the bakery thing, if I don't have the time, I just pick something up from the store and take that with me.
