This Is the Healthiest Time To Eat Dinner, Says Recent Study The science of early dinners Senior author of the study, Frank A. J. L. Scheer, PhD, Director of the Medical Chronobiology Program in BWH's Division of Sleep and Circadian Disorders, explained the study's objective in a press release:"We wanted to test the mechanisms that may explain why late eating increases obesity risk." The study defined an early dinner as a meal consumed three to four hours before bedtime, aligning with our body's circadian rhythm. This time management allows the body to efficiently digest food, process nutrients, and smoothly transition into a fasting mode during sleep, facilitating essential restorative processes (and arguably better sleep, according to some experts). The benefits of an early-bird dinner The BWH study discovered stark differences in metabolic profiles of early and late diners. Early diners demonstrated lower blood glucose levels, improved fat-burning capacity, better sleep quality, and higher energy levels. Meanwhile, late dinners led to increased hunger, slower calorie burning, and elevated fat storage, posing risks for conditions like diabetes and cardiovascular disease. www.msn.com/en-us/health/other/this-is-the-healthiest-time-to-eat-dinner-says-recent-study/ar-AA1e2e2K?ocid=hpmsn&cvid=c5e10341b9da4ed1b6264f776dd3c397&ei=29

I start dinner around 4-4:30 pm everyday. We eat around 5 pm. Someone told me that's early? I grew up doing that so it's normal for me.

But, I guess that's pretty early for a lot of people. I prefer my bigger meal to be earlier. I would rather eat a big lunch instead but it's easier to do for supper. Some countries don't eat till quite a bit later. I don't think I would want to feel that full going to bed.

I would love to eat earlier. Usually our dinner is ready sometime between 7:00 and 8:00.
And no, I am not in charge of dinner.

I would eat at 330 and be fine but that's a bit too early for the rest of the family. I do like to have our Holiday meals at earlier times. I usually like to serve around 4 then spend the evening grazing and relaxing.

I prefer between 6:00 and 7:00 for normal dinners.
I like to do big holiday meals early, too.

I pretty much like to eat lite, I like to snack when I'm watching TV, I more or less eat a little bit at a time all thru the day no fixed big dinner time- unless Lisa comes over then we got out to eat~~ or Val invites me over for dinner and she has quite a bit of food usually.
I said it before but may as well say it again, I can't cook or bake- I'm lucky I know how to boil water, anything that can be cooked in boiling water I can-do (or canoe). I like corn/cob and boiled potatoes, rice and oatmeal and that's about my limit- I also have the ability of pouring milk on cold cereal like Rice Krispies in a bowl that's another skill I Canoe!
