How is this happening in the richest country in the world? I accidently came across this video on YouTube. I am wondering how these people ended up where they are and why they are not being helped? What is shocking to me is that some are in wheel chairs and yet they are homeless. Are the mentally ill, drug addicted and disabled just thrown out like this? Is there no other way. My sons went to Phila awhile back to go to one of those Yu-gi Oh tournaments or something like that. They were shocked at the squalor of the city.
I think we aren't really looking at the root causes. I think there is a lot of despair, hopelessness, helplessness, lack of community, etc. There used to be ties that kind of would bind you to your hometown or to other people, etc.

Xylazine makes these people like the walking dead. |

It is everywhere. It's been this way since I was a kid and I've lived in a few states and cities. It's sad😞. When my husband was younger (after the navy but before he went in the army) he had a stint of homeless for about 8 months in Denver Colorado. He joined the army and got out of it. Not everyone can do that though.

Sadly these videos show nothing I dont see daily.
Its been several years of thousands of deaths by opioids every year. We call them the walking dead.
