I’d like to continue on this point. sunnyds.proboards.com/post/509467X uses an algorithm to provide a tailored view of tweets that the user might be interested in based on the accounts they interact with most and other factors ...political bias.
So you are only going to see what X algorithm knows you want to see. You only get one side. I see that as problematic. What do you know about the current active set of X algos apple?

The algorithm is serving you content that it deems you might like. Therefore, if you have any political side it will be biased to the side you've shown to like.

Is this personal experience or were you told that this is true? Is this different from any of the other big social media platforms? Facebook? TikTok? If so, why is this a problem for X and not the others? If this is true, is it not preferable to the previous set of algos which would artificially promote one side while purposefully squashing the other?

In social media, algorithms are rules, signals and data that govern the platform’s operation. These algorithms determine how content is filtered, ranked, selected and recommended to users. Algorithms influence our choices and what we see on social media. .. In our evolutionary past, biases to learn from PRIME information were very advantageous: Learning from prestigious individuals is efficient because these people are successful and their behavior can be copied. Paying attention to people who violate moral norms is important because sanctioning them helps the community maintain cooperation. But what happens when PRIME information becomes amplified by algorithms and some people exploit algorithm amplification to promote themselves? Prestige becomes a poor signal of success because people can fake prestige on social media. Newsfeeds become oversaturated with negative and moral information so that there is conflict rather than cooperation. The interaction of human psychology and algorithm amplification leads to dysfunction because social learning supports cooperation and problem-solving, but social media algorithms are designed to increase engagement. We call this mismatch functional misalignment. link

I think God called it first. Everyone wants their ears tickled now.
2 Timothy 4:3-4 New American Standard Bible
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths.

It's far less likely that misinformation stands for long on that platform as compared to the others.

Yellow journalism was a style of newspaper reporting that emphasized sensationalism over facts. During its heyday in the late 19th century it was one of many factors that helped push the United States and Spain into war in Cuba and the Philippines, this is not a new thing.

Very similar to the recent almost unilateral war hawking push by the govmedia against Russia.
