Now probably not. I'm old and like my comforts. But if I was younger, I would sure give it a try.

Sometimes it seems so tempting!
Just living a very simple life, away from everything and to see if I could survive. Not only survive but be happy living this way?
Any thoughts on this kind of living? For you or not for you?

With rents and home prices going through the roof all over the place. I can see more and more people looking to live this way.

deyana, have you ever watched 'Homestead Rescue'? It's on Discovery Plus. An Alaskan family that travel helping others who are trying to live off the grid. It is really good!

I know how to do it,..foraging, planting garden, putting up food for winter, cutting firewood, etc,...but I wouldn't be able to do all that now.

I couldn't, nor would I want to. I like my creature comforts. And things like electricity, running water, heat, A/C... I'm sure you get the picture.

I guess making is work living that way, depends on a lot of things.
I would like to give it a try, I don't mind being out in the wilderness, however I would like a working water and septic system!

I know people who do and it’s not a pleasant experience. It must be hard to be completely Off Grid. I think it does take a certain kind of person. Being young and fit help a great deal.

I like heat, AC, indoor plumbing, refrigeration, appliances and the internet. So no, probably not.
