Should EU cut off Britain if war breaks out with Putin?

The European Union has threatened to cut off weapons to the UK and keep arms within the bloc, in plans announced to prepare for a potential conflict with Russia.



The EU's industry commissioner Thierry Breton announced the overhaul to the bloc's military strategy yesterday, saying that the union had to look after itself in a 'security crisis'.

It's a panic to me that is unfounded. How is Putin going to extend this war when he can't even defeat Ukraine? What it does tell me is that countries are running out of blank checks to just keep sending Ukraine money.

Seems silly to assume they want a war with Russia.

Seems that the EU is not wanting to share with the UK anymore. They want to keep weapons and resources for themselves in case a full blown war does break out.

I agree though, in that how is Russia going to be able to tackle so many nations when it can hardly hold it's own in the Ukraine?

Nuclear weapons is the only way it can. But then we are talking about a world catastrophe. Who'd be stupid enough to go there?

Yes, exactly. The money is not going to keep on being sent over for ever. And I think it's getting to that point.

Aren't you all in NATO? I would think that would override any EU centric decisions.

Also, your husband pointed out that GB is putting a bigger percentage of their GDP into their military than most NATO nations. You're probably in much better shape than they are.

I was kind of wondering about the same thing. What does the EU think it can do, when the UK is part of NATO? Isn't it an all for one thing? They back each other in every way? Isn't that what NATO is all about? Or is it splitting up in some ways?

As Obama said "Don't under-estimate Bidens ability to "F" everything up he touches". We'll be lucky to reach election day without getting into a world war. Look how many new wars and skirmishes have happened in just the past year- Haiti is one of the newest along with South Africa. The Ukraine war started one month after Biden was put into office. That's when Putin started his troop build up.
