I just had a very yummy mango. This year was a good year for the mango crop in India. For some strange reason bumper crop of mangoes come every alternate year. There are practically infinite varieties of mangoes, some well known some less known. The most popular varieties are Langra, Chousa, Dusseri in northern India.

I just love Mangos, jyoti. They are the most delicious of all fruits. You are lucky to have so many and such variety over in India. Here in Canada, we get quite a few (imported) from other countries in the summer months. but in the winter they are harder to find. The same with strawberries and other seasonal fruits.

I was in Phi Phi Island last winter, the pineapples and the water melons were simply out of the world. I ate them for breakfast, in between Snorkeling whole day. The dinner off course consisted of fresh produce of the Andaman sea

I think the mangoes you get are from Mexico. I dont know about up north, but I have had this year mangoes from Brazil, Ecuador, Guatamala, Mexico and the Islands. One has to pre-book by the case mangoes from Queens to get the indian variety.
