Every day for the last 12 months, the world’s sea surface temperatures have broken records. Ocean scientists are growing increasingly concerned. “It’s not just an entire year of record-breaking ocean temperatures, but it’s the margin it’s breaking them by — it’s not even close to what the previous record was,” said Brian McNoldy, a senior research associate at the University of Miami Rosenstiel School of Marine, Atmospheric, and Earth Science.“That’s what’s raising the eyebrows of a lot of people.” Average sea surface temperatures today are roughly 1.25 degrees Fahrenheit higher than they were from 1982-2011, according to the University of Maine’s Climate Reanalyzer. It’s a huge anomaly that could have significant effects on weather and ecosystems. Human-caused climate change is likely playing a role, researchers said, but is probably not the only factor. Climate models predict a steady rise in sea surface temperatures, but not this quickly, and ocean surface temperatures also fluctuate and can be affected by natural climate variability, including patterns such as El Niño and La Niña. www.yahoo.com/news/12-months-record-ocean-heat-160332495.html

You do know the core of the earth is 10,800 degrees F don't you?
It's probably not our hairspray keeping it that hot.

plus under sea volcanic eruptions ...there was a huge one a few yrs back that heated the oceans up that never seemed to come up in discussions with the global warming loons

What does the core temperature have to do with ocean surface temps? What is the correlation?

Seems obvious that heat is transferred from the core outward. We are literally sitting on a ball on fire.

But the global warming agenda is all about trying to control human beings. So of course they don't consider that.

Let's just IGNORE that we literally sit on a fiery hot ball and talk about hair spray? yeah right

What does the core temperature have to do with ocean surface temps? What is the correlation? I dunno . What does YOUR core temp have to do with your body temp?

We do, and geothermal vents have always existed. However, it didn't say the ocean depths were getting warmer, which would make sense if it was being heated by the Earth's core, but the surface. The surface waters are not heated by geothermal vents to any great extent.

But pretend it's ONLY the SUN and ignore the core. Funny but your core temp is actually what keeps you alive. But that isn't popular , i know

My core and my surface are not separated by thousands of miles. Convection Conduction Radiation Science is your friend That all has minimal effect on ocean surface temperatures. The rotation of the Earth's core has much more of an influence than the temperature. And nobody said it was only the sun that influences the surface temps. It is not an either/or thing.

seems like anyone with a brain would consider sitting on a 10,000 degree ball. But nah

But that's ok. Give up some of your human rights and those of your grandkids to appease the climate gods
