Is it safe to microwave food? Despite being a kitchen workhorse for decades, few household items have been more divisive than the microwave. It's hailed as a lifesaver for those who can't, or won't, cook, and portrayed by some chefs as singlehandedly dragging the art of cooking into the gutter. But another debate lies beyond the culinary disputes – when is microwave cooking bad for you? When used correctly, there's nothing to worry about in terms of your microwave's radiation, according to the World Health Organization. But other concerns are less clear – including whether microwaving food causes nutrient loss, or whether heating food in plastic can trigger hormone disruption. www.bbc.com/future/article/20200714-is-it-safe-to-microwave-food

only if you stand in front of it while using it That's what I heard. And old microwaves with cracks in them can leak radiation.

And old microwaves with cracks in them can leak radiation. we used to have a store and sold appliances way back when micro waves 1st came out..we sold amana. then one time a lady came in and said that consumer reports listed which ones leaked the most. and amana wasnt on that list. so when a salesman came in one day, we asked him about that. the answer was "amana miro waves dont leak,,,so consumer reports didnt report them in the report because of that."

I threw my old microwave away, I had it for 15 years. It was still working, but I was worried it might leak somehow. I got a new one and it broke within a year! And now I have yet another new one, so far so good.

I just got a new TV. My old one just couldn't handle streaming anymore. This new one is awesome, though.

I didn't read past the first paragraph of the link. not for any wild/crazy conspiratorial reason... just didn't need to. before I even opened link, knew what you microwave in is important. glass is probably the best. I don't use the microwave all that much and REALLY need to get to know my air fryer better. I prefer to reheat food in a way that's closest to how it was originally prepared... what "they" recommend. if I had left over pizza, would put in a non-stick skillet on VERY low and then almost forget it. seems any bread-like things really don't reheat very nicely in the microwave. sure, they get hot but become very tough/rubbery. and Justbec, that's a very pretty thing you have there!

Deep Grease fryer is where it's at! Everything tastes better when it's deep fried.
