Rishi Sunak and Akshata Murty are now richer than King Charles Rishi Sunak and his wife Akshata Murty are now richer than the King after their personal fortune jumped by more than £120m last year. According to the Sunday Times rich list, the couple’s towering wealth has increased from £529m last year to £651m, at a time when millions of Britons are struggling with the cost of living. The couple’s increase in wealth is driven mainly by Murty’s stake in the he $70bn (£55.3bn) Indian IT company Infosys founded by her father. Her shares grew in value by £108.8m to nearly £590m for the year. link

Akshata Murty and her "husband" Rishi Sunak are now richer than the King after "her" personal fortune jumped by more than £120m last year.
That's the way that first sentence should read and the only reason they're that rich is because her daddy gave her a bunch of shares of the company he helped create, Infosys Limited. She also enjoyed "non-domiciled status" for taxation which meant she paid basically nothing for taxes on that wealth for most of her life in the U.K. Think Trudeau and the trust fund daddy set up for him. Someone from the U.K. vould better explain that tax status because it mainly only benefits the rich.

Yeah her daddy is a billionaire, which she will one day inherit.
I suppose Rishi Sunak is not in politics for the money then?

The rest of their money probably came from him, he was a hedge fund guy. He does have integrity. On 5 July 2022, Sunak and Health Secretary Sajid Javid resigned almost simultaneously amid a scandal surrounding the sexual harassment allegations against Chris Pincher, which arose after it was revealed that Johnson had promoted Pincher to the position while knowing of the allegations beforehand.[102] Sunak was the second of 61 Conservative MPs to resign during the government crisis.[103] In his resignation letter Sunak said: "The public rightly expect government to be conducted properly, competently and seriously. I recognise this may be my last ministerial job, but I believe these standards are worth fighting for and that is why I am resigning. It has become clear to me that our approaches are fundamentally too different.
