That Bikini song came out just as the Bikini swim suit was becoming popular late 1950's and early 1960's. Today they have even smaller swim suits from string bikinis to thongs. The thongs are popular in Rio Just about every woman there wears a thong on the Rio Beach.

There are also some groups/singers who had one/two and three hit wonders and then just vanished. One such singer is Barry McGuire who sang the 1965 hit "Eve Of Destruction" and I think he had two more hits and just vanished.
