Hey gang, a game show channel here (Buzzer) runs old "Price is Right" game shows from 1984 & 1985 with Bob Barker they run two one hour episodes every day, the models were Miss Holly, Miss Diane and Janice.
It's interesting to watch what the prices and prizes were back then cars were under $10,000. I notice they use the same items in many shows~ so if you watch the show alot and get to be a contestant on that show you have better odds on winning something- but much of it is just luck Bob Barker said the only game that does not require any luck on "The Price Is Right" is the 'clock game' where ya have to guess the price and Bob barker says 'higher or lower' and you zero in on the price.
Anyhow I watched the 'New Price Is Right' the current daytime show with Drew Carey, it seems they let ya win more easy but I noticed many of the contestants today are nuts they jump around and stage run in circles and scream with excitement, the contestants today act differently than they did in 1984-1985. They have a male model which I think is wrong no one wants a guy modeling for the prizes, they also have one female model, back in the day they 3 female models.
The prizes from the 1980's were interesting like movie cameras and home movie projectors, type writers, record players, sometimes they came out with a projection color TV but most tv's were CRT's. I was surprised they had some computers as prizes in the showcases but they big and bulky, other popular items were pagers and Sony walkmans.
In the price guessing games from the 1980's they had things like those Sunshine Ho-Ho crackers for only $1.69, many food items were under $1.00. Many items they had on the early shows are no longer made or are just obsolete.
