We’re about two months away from the first anniversary of the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, and the outcomes have been about as catastrophic as predicted. Pregnant people have shared a range of near-death experiences; child rape victims and cancer patients have been forced to travel out-of-state for care; and at least one hospital serving a rural Idaho community shuttered its labor and delivery department altogether, no longer able to staff it due to concerns stemming from the state’s criminal abortion ban. All of these stand out as visceral, overtly extreme stories—but what often gets lost in the conversation is the day-to-day cruelty of someone being denied an abortion simply because they didn’t want or couldn’t afford to remain pregnant. www.yahoo.com/news/over-66-000-people-6-181500454.html

Why is it we are always told to be more like Europe but then France, Germany, Italy only allow abortion to about 12-14 weeks?

Great as text, there's always a situation, usually made public sans some details. How about statistical relevance ?

Criminal? What is criminal about what is passed and voted on by the legislators? Are you trying to cancel democracy?

The abortion debate in America is like the gun control "debate'. There is no actual debate. And the left will never accept anything less than unimpeded abortion on demand for any reason thru and until birth. So, then why so surprised when there is a massive swing the other way?

It's criminal when it doesn't.

Oh no! MORE people were born and lived! Really? How many? You believe that because you made it difficult women will just not bother? In many cases, yes, because we have news stories where women tell about being denied an abortion and having the baby. There was that story about how many more babies were born in Texas than otherwise would have been because of the restrictions, and the stories were not from pro-lifers. I celebrate each abortion that was prevented because Roe vs Wade was overturned. There is no right to abortion in the Constitution and there never was. It was manufactured. There is no right to birth control either. I know of few trying to outlaw it, but that is not my point. It is not Constitutionally protected, and we need to make sure that we do not have judges making up things that do not exist. We have elected officials to make laws.

The premise of the Federal government mandating abortion for the states was always on shaky ground legally. Now it's back to the states authority on whether abortion is legal or not, as it always used to be. Mandating the killing of unborn babies by choice, is over as far as the Federal government is concerned. I see nothing wrong with the majorities of those states deciding what they want. It's our constitutional republic working as designed.

The Constitution never granted a right to abortion. It was a manufactured right. Now the individual states are deciding if they are barbarians that allow murder or moral people that protect innocent human beings.

One argument the left always uses in favor of abortion is that the mother's life could be threatened. But that never is an issue. Even before Roe v. Wade, if the mother's life was in danger by continuing a pregnancy, she was given a medical abortion. That still is legal.
I know, because I was almost aborted. When the doctor informed my mother that she could die if she had another child, he offered her an abortion. She refused, and here I am.

I'm not for abortion personally, I was just noting how our system of government works. All the spin about how the Supreme Court has made abortion illegal, is not true. Killing unborn babies for other than a life or death choice, is something I will never condone.

I know a woman I used to go to church with that was a high risk because she was in her late 40s when she got pregnant and had health problems. They advised her to have an abortion, and she refused, and she and the baby were fine. The sad thing is, there are evil people here at Sunny Daze that spend their time lamenting every time a child is not aborted and is born.
