Not according to the title of your thread. The only one who is telling people what to believe is you. Or am I misunderstanding you? Of course you are.

Happened here last year. The medical folks assigned to the gsme saved his life. Yes, there have been other instances where players have been cut by skates in hockey. Clint Malarchuck of the Buffalo Sabres nearly lost his life on the ice to a severed jugular caused by a skate. That was horrific, and the PTSD from that still affects him to this day.

This was an accident and this is an example of why people shouldn't use twitter as the basis for all their information. The tweet suggested that a roundhouse kick waas done. The video shows no such thing. And this was blown out of proportion by even questioning if it was murder. On X this evening they had other videos from different angles and it clearly showed the guy was trying to hit him with his skate, no doubt about it, im2.

I think the larger question besides neck guards is could he have been saved aby certain medical protocol or intervention? I am not saying he could have been saved. If the carotid artery was completely severed and/or across is trachea/windpipe it may not have been possible. But, basic CPR/first aid would have most likely involved leaving him on the ground, turning him on his side and apply as much force and pressure to tamp down the bleeding also while not impeding his ability to breathe. Having him stand up and skate off with no pressure or wrap or anything allowed the blood to pour out of him.
Seems to me we get so bogged down in other aspects of things we forget to look at things like that. Yes, neck guards, but also we need to look at what type of medical professionals should be on staff. We always have the ambulance service/EMS at all our football games.

The treatment of the injury deserves to be investigated, as it appears to be less than adequate.

He received immediate medical attention, with CPR performed on the ice, and was taken to hospital but could not be saved.

He received immediate medical attention, with CPR performed on the ice, and was taken to hospital but could not be saved. He went all the way across the ice and collapsed. He should have gotten treatment immediately on the ice, where it happened. It is highly likely that no amount of care would have saved his life, but you never allow a bleeding person to walk away.

I have seen similar situations. It all happens so quickly. I have seen people jump up and run while seriously injured. He was no doubt in shock and headed for the bench. I am not sure what it is you think could have stopped this?

As I said, I am not sure anything could have prevented the eventual outcome. When a similar incident happened in the NHL, the trainer immediately went out onto the ice to tend to the player. Then a stretcher was brought out onto the ice. Someone with a bleed like that who is moving around is causing more rapid exsanguination.

That's one problem. This was a minor league and probably didn't have the staff. This brings up another point and that’s the type of person who plays in the hockey minor leagues. Thug life would be putting it mildly.

If you know about minor league hockey like you say you do, you know exactly what I’m talking about and it has nothing to do about race.

I do not know what you are talking about. Both my boys have played Minor league hockey for over a decade each. They still play in an adult hockey league so no I do not know what you mean by thug.

Your nose is growing. No really, it isn't. One of my sons is a forward the other defense so...please explain your "thug" response.
