All evening, in a bar of an Italian friend, re-discovering long forgotten Genovese songwriter/jazzer/balladist Paolo Conte, one of the true geniuses still alive (though not for too long, I suspect, given his age)... He was (and is) always well known in Germany, here in Spain (strange, strange!?) almost nobody knows him....
Here one of his classics (partially subtitled in Inglés), about how to leave a love, certainly 25+ years old despite in this vid being of a recent performance, his voice and how he treats the piano (I always suspected that the piano represents his woman/women?), gives me goose bumps still..:
Another of his classic tunes (I think the first I heard by him and which called me to attention), a display of all his unique art of composition and arrangement that makes you feel light and heavy at the same time; rather strange at first impression, but until the end of the song Conte will have planted a melody in your head you will never forget and allways again recognize anywhere/when you hear it...*This* is what makes a genius (in music), IMHO...
I have posted it in two versions, decades apart, you will note what I meant before: Completely different arrangements, but the theme and melody - imprinted forever in your brain, so listen to it at your own risk...
Life is OK, but with people like Conte, it is even better!

Wow, that's a very interesting song there, Spindrift.
The UK won't allow that Alan Jackson song? hmm...
Well, how about this one:

Right now:...to a revelation of my youth (first ever so fantastic drum solo and "psychedelic" rock), due to youtube time restrictions in two parts (a pity this original is really low on volume, so you will have to turn them up a bit; there are shorter versions out, better on volume, but they don´t bring up the same feeling...):

My favorite song from one of my favorite bands - The Eagles (again). Do you catch the double meaning in the words? THE EAGLES - LIFE IN THE FAST LANE

The Eagles were a great band weren't they. I saw an interview with them last year on T.V. and the last I knew they had got back together and were doing gigs. I'd love to see them live if they ever play at Magnetic Hill over here.
Neither of the songs apply to me either! But I can image it does to many.

Here's another one that I can't really relate to, but can understand. Or maybe it does make some sense to me in some way....
Not the original version, this one by Celine Dion. She seems to be singing from the heart.
