Dont really know where to post it:
I am listening to it currently, but it is only partially music. Then, t is poetry, but it is a commercial also. It is a random thought, but it holds importance. It is a funny vid, but it is reaslly serious.
Anyway, currently listening to a work of art by some really highly talented texters, the essence of soccer, the tubne that moves us fans, dedicated to todays league start (translation of the text - that goes with the pix - by me):
Enjoy the league!

Actually, they are talking about the "goal", but yes, it is about "futbol"(in Spanish). We in Europe call it "soccer" in English ("football" is reserved for the American Rugby Derivate, in the US this is the only meaning).
The tune is sung in our stadiums (on the lyrics of "la lala lala" whenever a home team scores.
It really is a pity you wont be able to join me tonight a 2100 when we play (first match, worst opponent) title aspirant Madrid here at home, it will be *the* party (and even better should we win, which is not to be expected)...
To give you an idea what you are missing:
And, to the Marines cadences rhythm as heard in the next vid:
Rojo y negro es mi color,(Red and Black is my color) que lucir es un honor!!!!(to wear it is an honor)
Finally the soccer free season has ended, all fans enjoy, and may the best win!

'futbol' is what they call soccer in Spain? I like the energy in that first video, it would be exciting to see it for real. Can they still concentrate on the actual game? Just wondering, the song on the second video, are there many like it? Do the soldiers just make them up as they go along?

'futbol' is what they call soccer in Spain? Actually, almost everywhere on the planet, especially in Europe. It is just the US again that needs to give a different meaning to this word, whatever this would be good for: Spanish: futbol French: football German: Fussball Czech: fotbal Denish: fodbold Basque: futbola Hindi: footbol (फुटबॉल) Dutch: Voetbal Hungarian: futball Letonian: futbols Lithuanian: futbolas Norwegian: fotball Swedish: fotboll Tagalor: putbol Romanian: fotbal Russian: futbol (футбол) Turkish: futbol Just wondering, the song on the second video, are there many like it? Do the soldiers just make them up as they go along? Those tunes are called (military) march cadences, many of them are old and traditional, typically US or forces (like the Spanish Marines) that follow the US model, following 2-3 tunes mainly, and you can google them if you are interested, one more example, this time army: OTOH, when the US guys try and train European soldiers, it usually becomes a bit ridiculous due to clash of cultures (we have different systems here), nnice vid of an US instructor trying to drive things home to British recruits (see the comments in the original vid for more enlightening): In the German army we do it differently again, we work with complete songs, one song for each type of unit (inf, tanks, paras or uboats e.g., watch after 1 minute into this vid of recruit basic march training to get the idea): One song *every* German soldier knows, for example, is "Westerwald", our probably most standard marching cadence (English subtitled, but with WWII pix): Rattler

(Nice, the Queen song, had forgotten about it!) Without wanting to hijack this thread further to soccer, just a quick update: This weekend has been "redondo"(round) for me: Mallorca got one point from Madrid (0:0), Barca won 0:3 and is 2 points ahead of Madrid right from start, my Sant Elm Serpientes beat the crack team in my league 0:3 in their field, and I, for a long time now, had the chance to eat twice on one day... Also, with a little (big!) help from my friends after 8 month own a car again, a heap of bent metal, but it only cost me 500 Euros and driving bad in a car is anytime better than walking 4 hours to or from work well... Also, the terrific heat wave is over for now (we had - felt - 60 degrees centigrades (42 with humidity of 99) still yesterday, 4th day at that level), and this weekend the Spanish holidays end and we will have our village back to ourselves when they all leave on Monday...;D Looks like after those 12 month of pure shit times really are a´changing... Alltogether, this condenses into music, of cause, I listen right now to one of my late 80s favorites of Ronny Jordan, the only true Wes Montgomery copy who does not belong into a lift sound system of an office building: Just doing so (or mentally drifting over a DF, dressed in a fine tuxedo with a GT in my hand) makes me feel optimistic and euphoric, here in a 21st century version, Enjoy, listening a bit to the lyrics...!: And now, I let it follow by this one, also gives me wings...(Stephanie McKay´s vocals help, of cause): Rattler

I just can't get over how young the soldiers all are in the clips. So innocent looking too. Thanks for the links, Rattler.
Glad things are looking up for you again. I had not realized just how hard things had been for you. The temperature went up to 42? Jeez...that is hot. We are also having extremely hot weather here at the moment, I'll be glad when it cools down a bit again.

@ Deyana: Soldiers *are* young (else they would have left). Only Generals are old.
Anyway, now once again listening to my voice revelation from 2008 which has not been topped since, Amadine Burgeois:
No electronics here, pure and naturally funny: Amandine Bourgeois -"La Fièvre Acheteuse"(="Retail Therapy";D)
Oaahhhh!, the way she pronounces "life is soooo beautiful", no further comment...
This last one took listening repeatedly over a year before I came to really like it (maybe because the vid distracts from the voice?), but now it is on my "favorites" shelf:
