Andrea Bocelli - Por Ti Volare Incidentally (do we have a mind reader here? ) last night went to a long awaited, and probably truly historic concert here in Palma de Mallorca (in the stadium of my RCD Mallorca), Elton John and Andrea Bocelli together (with the Balearic Symphony Orchestra and the Choir of the Untiversity of Palma), a TRUE BLAST!!!!(of cause,"por ti volare" was in the mix... ) and, while it is not my type of music in general, the performance and the actors createted a memorable event, unrepeatable....!! ). 25000 spectators, and I guess not one repented having gone and paid the 165 Euros...! All rights reserved, so no vids yet, just the report from this mornings news (Spanish speakers, dont dispair if you dont understand much, the article is in "mallorquin"): It was expensive, but well worth the money... ...Turning it into a long long weekend in Mallorca. Next time plz dont be shy to ask me before you come (I feel embarrassed and almost insulted that you didnt, so little people make it to here, and then from our forum? I would have provided mobility and "alojamiento" on the island for free), your guys also, after the gig, probably missed one of the best "fiestas" on the island every year, our village fiesta in S´Arraco (20 min from Palma to the SW) with a bull to eat and many widows to dance to until 0300, then open hunt for all the beautifull unmarried Palma ladies until 0700 (when finally the Guardia Civil turned up and stopped the orchestra from playing)... JFTR, the bull was already cold when we arrived from the Palma concert, but as it was sold for chairty we all had a plate anyway. The widows disappeared at around 0200 (contrary to what had to be expected, no stamina anymore or no fresh widows this year?), and then we had a lot of hunt and fun (one, at least, guess who ;D, ascertained on his prey ;D - or vice versa?- ) up to the early morning hours, as a metropol guy I say: No better fiesta possible, not even in Berlin, Londres or Paris... Anyway, hope you guys coming here enjoyed yday night about half as me, pity we didnt meet (still angry, kindof ). Anyway, you missed this gig (not the vid, but the music, 3 of the guys live here: We are a Music Genious Village - see my other threads about fiestas on various other forums or ask admin)."Save the horse-riding cowboy"... (no prob here in Spain, he is all-presentin the villages, and without needing reigns): il.youtube.com/watch?v=FePwkE1UwysRattler

If I were going, you folks would have known by now, didn't I mention my friends instead of "I and my friends". I will however be in Amsterdam during the Marathon weekend (no, not running the marathon)

I am listening at at this hour, Mahler: Symphony #5 - Zubin Mehta conducting for New York Philaharmonic. I just realized: As we keep adding youtube links the thread really crawls to a slow halt. Not a good thing if someone is on a slow link or on the road traveling

Long time ago, I decided to become totally portable. I now carry my whole music collection of few 100 old LPs/45s plus CDs with me On my ipod video, which is old by toldays standards. This Labor Day morning I am listening to Evelyn "Champagne" King, the R&B and Soul singer from Da Bronx "I'm in Love" Evelyn "Champagne" King

I've found that MP3 players are just great for storing and listening to music of your choice as well. I can even plug mine in to my car, I really like it. I've noticed that too, agua. Maybe we should start a part two of this thread. Also, if you don't mind not having the video that goes with the song, Grooveshark is a good alternative, it won't slow things down as much. I've also made it so that only 20 posts will be displayed per page instead of the 30 something it was. So that should make it a little faster too now.

Alice In Chains - Check My Brain Now,*that* is some new music soundwise, revolutionary take on rock, indy but swishy and glammy at the same time, glad we reached this stage... Myself, I always was a bit in love with the singer of this band here (her voice gives me goose bumps, and its a pity I cannot find a vid to have you look at her, the album cover doesnt render sufficient tribute; low level recording, so turn it up a bit!), German, along the same line of exceeding the traditional Rock limits, a bit weird maybe, but after three times listening to it it will turn into an ear worm...: Stella - Extralife (late-into-the-night club music poetry in musical motion) Rattler

More (true!) poetry in musical motion, for the Londoners/Parisiennes/NewYorkers/Berliners from before the wall crumbled, a pity they broke the mold after this music was conceived, so glad I still have my Thorens and my Vinyl...(lyrics and then song):
"Sleeper in Metropolis":
"Our Darkness":
"Poets Turmoil":
