^ Frank Zappa was very talented. It's a shame we don't hear his music played much nowadays. As as a guitar player, maybe he indeed was talented (just the bad-ass solo in the end of the 2nd vid above seems to indicate so, as originally he actually was a drummer/percussionist with classic conservatorial education), but as musician he way beyond such terms, he was indeed a true genious jin the strict sense of the word, i.e. one of a kind that only live once per century maybe, like Beethoven, Bach or similar calibers. Most only know his rock stuff, but he also did well distributed and recognized operas, classical compositions, jazz, you name it, also a lot of stuff you listen to and do not even know it is by him like film music, music under pseydonym, etc.. With whoever of his colaborator you talk to, they all co-incide in a hard working top professional who could write down into notes 8-voice partitures in minutes off memory without even an instrument close, who expected the same 18 hours days of work he did from his musicians and would not tolerate mediocrity. Before mentioned Ruth Underwood (the xylophone/vibraphone/marimba player in the early mother years that I was in love with when young) is both a good example for the kind of musicians he needed and a good witness about his qualities and work ethos: Or, take Steve Vai, one of my guitar gods, and how Frank Zappa audited him: Rattler

I spend my younger years in the UK, so I have a large variety of music that I still remember and like from that time. Here's one that I heard the other day, after a very long time.
Squeeze - Up The Junction

I want to share some Belgian music with you guys & girls, it will be a mix of all kinds of music, some your taste others not BUT... I would appreciate if you would listen to it and try to take the music into your soul/body... the music will be from around 1985 and will end in 2010 It would be great if some of these Belgian artists would get some foreign fans who buy their stuff... the quality is HIGH and original! first is a NewBeat classic: NewBeat was THE start for synth dancemusic, before techno/trance and others got popular... people were mostly high on whatever they could get in their hands....1 dancing was so popular that police were more inside than outside.. you should listen to this one with your eyes closed, preferrably with some alcohol or other stuff in your body quote from Wiki: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_beatone of THE tracks is this one at the speed it was played in dancings: originally it was recorded at this speed: more to come
