Well West Brom won their game in hand so the gap to Brentford is now 5 with 5 games to play. So quite a tall order but still doable if West Brom lose or draw a few games. Forest are a further 4 points behind so they will be looking for a miracle LOL.

Gap down to 3 with 3 points to play. Brentford have a real chance now.

Mike is excited because Brentford won 1-3 away at Derby which was expected to be a tough game. West Brom drew away to Blackburn so the gap is closer than it was.
Realistically Leeds and West Brom will probably snatch the two automatic promotion slots but with Brentford having won 7 games on the trot perhaps this time the curse of the play-offs will be in the past and they will finally make it to the Premier League!

Yesterday Bees fans were on a high. Huddersfield's 2-1 victory over West Brom meant that we were only 1 point behind Albion with a game in hand.
Unfortunately today we lost to Stoke 1-0.
We remain a point behind West Brom but I think we will now have to settle for third place and risk yet another attempt to win through the play-offs. After failing in eight previous attempts I can only hope our luck will change!

Comiserations Mike, so near but yet so far, still at least they made a fight of it but unfortunately fell at the final hurdle. Still they will have a good chance of making it via the the playoffs, which is more than you can say for pathetic Forest who slipped in 7th spot! They lost 4-1 at home would you believe! They also blew a 6 goal goal difference - unbelievable, still they are shite and would not have won the playoffs.

Yes, the Forest result was a real shock. Barnsley were fighting for their lives and if Wigan win their appeal their win over us may still be too little too late. off QPR tried to help us by drawing 2-2 at West Brom but we will just have to hope that it is ninth time lucky in the playoffs!
Commiserations to you, Kronks. Perhaps next season?

Brentford will now play Swansea and Fulham will play Cardiff. Each team will play one game, home and away and the winner of the two legs will play the winner of the other semi-final.
Let us hope the curse of the play-offs can finally be lifted - eight appearances, eight failures to progress.
Will it be ninth time lucky for the Bees?

Thank you, Kronks. Although sober realism makes me wonder if they will simply 'do' a Norwich - have one season playing in the top flight and then be relegated back to the Championship!

The curse of the playoffs strikes again as we lost 1-0 at Swansea (in the league we beat them 3-0). We also had a player sent off which was ridiculous - football is a contact sport and tackling is a part of the game.
Let us hope we can win the return leg at Griffin Park.

Thank goodness we got things right in the second leg. A 3-1 win means that we win 3-2 on aggregate and will face (probably) Fulham who lead Cardiff 2-0 from the first leg.

It will be Fulham we face. In spite of losing 1-2 at Craven Cottage their 2-0 win in Cardiff means that Fulham progress to the final against Brentford. Will we be the Bee's Knees or will we be stung?

1:0 Fulham, goalkeeping error still 14 mins if extra time for Fulham to get back into it. Nothing to lose now!

Terrible; the curse of the play-offs strikes yet again. Nine times we have qualified for them and nine times we have lost. 2-1 to Fulham and yet another season in the Championship. We are bound to lose our two top strikers now to Premier League clubs and may lose our manager as well.
Even Griffin Park is gone as next season we move to our new ground at Kew Bridge.
Oh, the play-offs! When will we ever get it right?

Wow, what a pity... so near, and yet so far . I'm sure you'll manage it eventually, though!
