Maybe you use them to bandage to a wound to help it heal? Or cure disease?

I have a feeling that you had it earlier on, kronks. It is tobacco leaves. At least that was what I was told. Not being a smoker I have no idea how many different kinds there are or if they are for chewing or smoking! I assumed they meant smoking tobacco? But I dunno for sure.

Wow, so many uses for this plant. I never knew.
I know in India they make these small tobacco sticks called 'biddies' as well, all out of the same leaf.

Definitely not tobacco being as I have grown a few plants myself and am a bit of an 'expert' on them, they are too small for starters. I did cheat a bit though, I googled "leaves on sale in india" Betel leaves for sale in IndiaSo they are Betel leaves. So they are chewed.

Oh wow, really? Thanks so much for looking those up. I guess when I took that photo and asked about the leaves they could not have understood me. So it was all lost in translation.
I just knew you would have the answer to that one, kronks.
And when I look back, I realize that I saw many rickshaw drivers who chewed some kind of substance that made their teeth all black. It was kind of gross when they spat it all out!

It's really disgusting to watch! I saw a young man with black teeth and he was spitting the stuff out right in front of us, and all this while trying to get us to use his rickshaw! No thanks.

Close enough! It's a gerbils nest. My little gerbil used to love to make his nest like that. He passed away a few years back I've used to have rats as pets as well, such intelligent little animals.

It is a fungus!
Exact description:
They are saltmarsh fungi in the USSR marshes and Mississippi delta.
So 'salt water' is the key.

It's something you might find in the kitchen... I kind of get the feeling I have seen these before but I don't know what they are. Are they anything to do with garlic or ice-cream?

Not garlic or ice-cream, kronks. But you're getting close... This one I actually got off the internet, so I know it's easy to find! I appreciate it that you have not googled it though

Something a little different now. The following painting actually hangs in my Study. I bought it recently from a second hand store. I am always looking out for interesting antiques and paintings. I took the photograph of the painting myself. What I'd like to know is what is it of and who is it by? p.s. You can google this one if you like.

Nice picture, can't seem to find anything on google about it. Can you read the signature bottom right? Looks like something like bieon or pheon which is an odd word, can't find anything on it. I am probably misreading it. I
