Yes I don't like to keep the house to warm or the air gets too dry in the winter. I used to just turn on my stove to like 250 and set my bread bowl somewhere near or on the stove. But, I would have to check to make sure it didn't over or under heat. Also it's collapsible for easy storage. In reality it's an overprice hot plate with a box around it but i like dialing in my exact temp and feeling nerdy.

not a tnt recipe, but they're all pretty much the same. preppykitchen.com/puff-pastry/i made it once. it's not difficult, but it IS tedious and time consuming. results were nice but frankly... frozen sheets from Pepperidge Farm are very good.

Tip for the day
I have been buying Cento tomato paste in a tube. It's way more than I can use. So I make small tablespoon size dollops on a piece of parchment, put in the freezer until frozen then put the discs in a bag and leave in the freezer. Very handy when you need a bit of tomato paste and no waste

I made tacos the other night. I always make my own seasoning mixes.

Very handy when you need a bit of tomato paste and no waste same for those little cans of tomato paste. i don't use more than a few TBSPs. i scoop remaining paste out onto piece of parchment paper and use a spatula (or some other straight edge) to push the paste into a cylinder. then into the freezer... in freezer bag. it never freezes ROCK hard. when i need some, i just slice off a hunk.

Gee just finished my loaf of 100% whole wheat. I usually make white bread but thought this would be good for a changed. Pulled a recipe and took me about 6 hrs to finish. Oh, and cooking tip 1035, make sure you oil the bread pan well, it's a lot harder to get out cleanly. Probably cuz I used molasses in it

Has anyone made puff pastry? I want to give that a try I did two years of cookery classes in High school, to exam level, and I've made what in the UK we call ' rough, puff pastry", I like the taste of it but man, it sure takes a lot of lard and marg. Not a big fan of those kind of fats.

I will look it up. We keep the house at 64 in the winter and bread will NOT rise LOL I am tending to mix and partly rise the bread mixture in the bread-maker. And then take it out to 'rest' and it rises some more. Much more than it would in the bread maker. You can then bake in regular oven.
